Why do some of you do this
I don't get some of you guys in the chat. Everything is going peachy, and it's sunshine and butterflies everywhere for everyone. The moment our opponent starts coming back or if we have a few bad plays/series, we've lost the game and our team is a fucking joke. It seems like some of you guys actually never say a word until things are looking bad.
It isn't this regime has a history of blowing halftime leads and losing. What gives to those of little faith. At least 4-5 people called that game a loss at some point in the 4th. Why be fans if you quit the moment things aren't running smooth? I mean, it isn't like I'm saying you guys should be happy about it, but yeesh. Not trying to make everyone act like "homers," whatever that means, or censor everyone, but come on folks. |

RE: Why do some of you do this
That is why I avoid it for away games and rarely use it when I am at home watching games. Its a great feature but I can not stand negativity when I am watching my team play.

RE: Why do some of you do this
If the Falcons decided to play football during the 3rd qtr of all their games, it would be a different story. But for some reason, we just don't play good football in the 3rd.
Here is our scoring breakdown of the 3rd qtr for just this year. Falcons = 13 Opponents = 52

RE: Why do some of you do this
Last year, scoring was even in the 3rd at 83/83. Sadly we are getting off to the same start with our 3rd qtr scoring. However, this year it is heavily lopsided due to our OL and special teams play this year. We can pretty much give 40 points to the other teams due to OL issues.
Our line looked MUCH IMPROVED today, but it's still not good enough. But to watch your team collapse in the 3rd qtr every game... it just pisses you off. If they fix the 3rd qtr, then we would win the majority of these close games with ease.

RE: Why do some of you do this
I don't think anyone should be surprised that, based on how that game was progressing, the 3rd Q collapse started making many (myself included) feel very uneasy. Luckily for us, a missed near-impossible-to-make 61 yard FG bailed us out. Us struggling over the previous three games (collectively), along with SEA's momentum swing and the disappearance of our running game/O Line run blocking, surely weren't about to restore/increase many fans' faith once the 4th Q progressed.
Until this teams starts putting four quarters together, I think everyone is entitled to get a little worried about how we handle first half leads going into the second half--especially knowing our difficulties in the 3rd Q so far and inconsistencies on both sides of the ball. |

RE: Why do some of you do this
I hate this about myself, but I literally cannot watch a game without coming completely unglued when the Falcons start getting outmatched. Chat can sometimes become out outlet to vent those frustrations. I imagine that others use the functionality with similar intent.
But like Peyton always says, if you let a football game wreck your life then you have some emotional problems or have some seriously misplaced priorities. Still at some point it becomes so much more than a game. Let's face it, for some of us life is hard. Not getting into specifics because that's all relative, but suffice to say football is a welcome distraction from many of life's problems. Eventually your team becomes a microcosm of your life, and you want nothing more for them to succeed on the ultimate stage not unlike you want success for yourself. Any setback the team experiences and causes an unwelcome parity between one's own struggles therefore the frustration can become magnified. I haven't watched more than at passing for the past two weeks, and it some respects it makes the weekend a bit more enjoyable. However I do miss watching the team, but I don't know what to do about next week. I know I'm going to get carried away again... |

RE: Why do some of you do this
I've stayed away from chat for the past 2 games completely and only came into it in the last 10 mins of the 4th quarter tonight because I was getting so frustrated. I only said a couple things and they weren't bad though. I mentioned the fact that they had just run like 5 screens on us and was pissed we couldn't figure out a formation to stop it and also why they could do it but we couldn't. That was about it.
I never do the doom and gloom thing and I certainly never give up or start badmouthing the team. No way would I ever. |
