Two 49ers fans were shot after one of them says they had gotten into a dispute over a football game with a Saints fan.

Corey Adams, who is visiting Duluth from California, said he and his friend were watching the game at a nearby Applebee's.

"We were going for the 49ers, this guy was a Saints fan," Adams said. "He kind of got upset that at the time the Saints was losing. He started saying how he was coming back for us and all that, we kind of didn't pay attention to what he was saying."

Adams said the man left the restaurant without finishing his food. About an hour-and-a-half later,during halftime, Adams and his friend decided to leave the restaurant.

"During the game we kind of forgot about it," Adams said. "We started walking out to the car, this guy approached us in a hood. "

Adams' friend was shot in the stomach at close range, meanwhile Adams started running away from the shooter. He ran around a nearby restaurant, and ducked behind a car after he said he could hear people outside of the Applebee's yelling for him to duck.

"That's when I felt something hot and I reached for my head and he kept shooting," Adams said. "I just took off running."

Adams' friend is in critical condition at Gwinnett Medical Center. Meanwhile, Gwinnett Police say they're glad more people didn't get hurt in this busy area.

"When you're looking at a population here, it's heavily populated," said Gwinnett Police Cpl. Edwin Ritter. "It can be dangerous.

typical TAINT fan mentality. when you build your whole life around a form of entertainment (we even have one or two taint fans here who have said as much), i guess there's not much hope if they disappoint you and lose.
