Bashing the team for making this hire isn't the same as bashing him personally.

I thought Arthur Blank needed to hire a guy with good credentials who have fed some excitement into the fan base, and also into potential free agents that might sign in Atlanta.

I think the Falcons failed there miserably. That's not a personal knock against Koetter.

When Koetter came they had Garrard, an old Fred Jackson, and MJD...who else did they have? I'm sorry Paulitik but I'm not sure where you are coming from with this.

My bad I left one out...I actually gave them the benefit of the doubt with Garrard bc what they had in Gabbert this year was far worst

I get where you are coming from dude but there aren't many of that type around who have been stellar throughout. Look at McDaniels pegged as the next BB. He has been bounced around is now back at NE. Folks were all over him.

This is a business, and the best way to please the fans isn't always to get the name because there is sometimes a reason why that name is available. You got to look with a wider perspective.

I get your hesitation I do though and so I'm clear I'm not hating on you because of it. Just want to help you see some pros to this. If you remember I started the thread at the top of last week that Koetter was a candidate and I stated I was against it. I based a lot of that on a very insular sample. Now I still am sceptical as to how he was picked but I can see why and I am excited by what I now understand of his philosophy and where he can take all the skill that we have that we have never seen him have anywhere in his career.

matt ryan had to deal with the shittiest oline play EVAR at right gaurd and left tackle. dear lord thank god he's as good as he is at this point in his development. year 4 he's doing some sick things with some shit ass shit. his wide receivers are uhmayzeen, but that doesn't mean shit if they only have 1 - 2 seconds to get open. blah blah arm strength he can get it there, just give him the clean pocket brady gets. shitty oline and he still threw for 4200 29 td's

i can make a lot of excuses for matt ryan's interceptions because they happen +3 not good but still fucking low middle of the road, i think a non shitty oline would fix this and he'd be top 5 (no homer)
