WOW! Those are eye popping scores! Congratulations Peyton.

She should consider Yale, as well as Stanford. The distances may bother you, but her overall experience would be worth it.

Her first choice indicates that she feels more comfortable in a smaller environment. You should keep that in mind, but also remind her that a large school can be made "smaller" by developing extra-curricular activities and forming close friendships. Unfortunately, you can't make a small college feel bigger.

Regardless of her choice, she will likely succeed at any endeavor she undertakes.

Thanks. She will be submitting an application to Stanford. She still thinks of herself as a long shot, even with the 2330, but we have a relative that recently graduated there that is encouraging her to apply.

I haven't been able to get her interested in Yale, I am trying though.

She really should visit Yale. If she has an interest in theatre, she will be exposed to a phenomenal department that welcomes science majors. Your daughter would receive the best science experience and still round her life out with the arts.

Congrats! Impressive!

As a UNC Graduate, what in the Hell would did you see in Duke? It's in Detroit-South, AKA Durham, the Murder Capital of NC. Duke students ALL come to Chapel Hill after class to get away from their campus because it is a ghost town surrounded by a nightmare neighborhood. The reason they camp in tents for WEEKS in K-Ville for basketball is that's about all they CAN do and be safe. You are MUCH better off many other places for a better education and experience.

And not to be funny, but unless your daughter is ugly as sin, she would NOT fit in at Duke. No girl above a 5 would be caught dead on that campus.

Best of luck getting into those other schools and dodging a bullet on Duke! Otherwise you WILL be dodging bullets in Durham.

As long as she doesn't pick Virginia Tech or Arkansas, I'm sure everyone here will give their blessing Tongue

I wouldn't expect anything less from a UNC graduate.

I've been in Arkansas before. If I would have went there prior to Clinton being President, I wouldn't have voted for him either time that I voted for him.

Virginia Tech is the most popular destination for kids from my daughter's high school, but my daughter would rather stick needles in her eye than go there I think.

lol I don't know about the ghost town campus but Durham is an extremely rough place...definitely an area you don't want to take a wrong turn at

Yeah great score but, can she make a sandwich and do the laundry?
J/KSmile. Always glad to here something positive about this next generation. Helps to strengthen my faith in humanity. Some times I look at the news and television and think we are screwed.

Congrats and when you bring this up in face to face conversations you have to use the Mr. Howell from Gilligans island voice.
