Why did you just post her SSN for?
BAH, just kidding ![]() I don't remember a thing about the SAT, but that percentile looks pretty impressive.

She actually got a better score on writing as a Junior, when she got a 770, so her "super score" is 2340.
That puts her in reasonable contention to go to any school in the country, but I'm having a hard time getting her to warm up to that idea, and a hard time getting her off the idea of going to Wellesley College. It's a great school, but I'd much rather she go to Duke. |

wow peyton, very nice, and congrats! i've got two daughters myself. speaking from experience, there is NOTHING wrong with bragging on them when they deserve it. so many times all parents do is complain about their kids, it's great to see someone boldly giving much deserved bragging!
out of curiosity, why is your choice Duke? Chew on THAT, Petunia!

For a lot of reasons. The first reason is that Duke is fantastic in science and medicine, and that is what my daughter is really interested in. Those All-girl schools my daughter has her eye on in Massachusettes are much stronger in the social sciences. The selfish reason I have is that it is so close to me, about 2 hours away, as opposed to Massachusettes, which is a long miserable trip. The third reason is that I just found the Duke campus to be complete awesomeness when I was there. In fairness to Wellesley, it also has an awesome campus. |

She did tell me that she is going to apply to MIT this morning and if she gets in there, that's a no brainer. We both agree that MIT is still a long shot though.

I have a friend that went to Duke and loved it. He has his doctrine from there.

Prior to the visit, my image of Duke was pretty much shaped by their obnoxious behaviour at basketball games and the lacrosse team deal a couple of years ago. Visiting the place changed all of my perceptions. |
