If you're attending Thursday's game against the Saints, Verizon Wireless will be hosting a HopeLine phone collection at Falcons Landing prior to the game. The first 100 fans that donate their no-longer used cell phones and accessories will receive a Falcons-branded bag. The HopeLine tent will be located next to the NFL Mobile zone.

This is ninth consecutive year that Verizon Wireless has teamed up with the Falcons’ to support victims of domestic violence. All phones collected during the drive will be used to support local domestic violence organizations and survivors.

Through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and to donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to non-profit advocacy agencies and law enforcement agencies to aid survivors of domestic violence. Wireless phones and technology can serve as a vital link to emergency or support services in a time of crisis or as a reliable, safe connection to employers, family and friends as survivors rebuild their lives. Since the program's launch in 2001, HopeLine has collected more than 9 million phones nationwide, funded more than $14.2 million in cash grants for domestic violence organizations and distributed nearly 123,000 HopeLine phones with the equivalent of more than 406 million minutes of wireless service for use by victims, survivors and organizations.
