Question NASCAR
Is anyone here a fan of NASCAR or auto racing in general? I've always been a huge NASCAR fan but have never had much success in finding people to talk NASCAR with. Even on NASCAR websites.

RE: NASCAR
I've been a big fan of it since the early 80's and typically go to 5-6 races a year. I'll admit though it's taken a back seat for me since the NFL season started though.

Cool. Finally someone else that is a fan of NASCAR.

Rusty Wallace was my guy growing up and now it's Brad Keselowski. I've never been to a race but I've been to Talladega, Daytona and Atlanta tracks. Got the tour of Daytona where they take you out on the track.

When I was at Atlanta it was back in the late 90s and Kurt Busch was testing the #97 John Deere car for Roush. It wasn't loud for just 1 car but from everyone I've talked to that have been to races says it's very loud with 43 cars out there.

It's just changed with the times like all sports have. Sometimes when I'm watching old races from the 90s I wish it were still like that but then all I have to do is remember all the guys that got killed in on track crashes and it makes me thankful that it's not like that anymore and that it's much, much safer than it is now and that there hasn't been a driver killed on the track since Dale Earnhardt in 2001.

But I think it will get better next year because of the new cars they'll be going to next year. They're finally going back to cars that are much more like the street versions.

RE: NASCAR
I don't watch as much as I used to but I still like it (and other forms of auto racing). I would love to have enough $$$ to be able to do it, even if only on the local short tracks.

Oh no doubt man. On my bucket list is to at least get up enough money to go to the Dale Jarrett driving school at Talladega or Atlanta. That would be pretty damn cool.

RE: NASCAR
I got to drive a few laps on Atlanta Motor Speedway, was in a regular car but got to run flat out, around 120 in T1-T2. That alone was awesome, was all I thought about for the next few days. Can't imagine it with a real race car.

RE: NASCAR
I grew up watching nascar, but now that the NFL has started, I've completely ignored it for the last 4 weeks.

But meow is the best time of the NASCAR season. They are 3 races into the Chase with 7 races left.
