Division is officially New Orleans' to lose, I won't exactly be cheering but it helps us more for the saints to win so I hope they do (they are now cursed lol). Today was putrid rotten disgusting raw sewage with fail across the board. We almost came back and had a chance to win but even so we did not deserve it. Credit to Houston's defense and their crowd, they affected our play far more than our game plan and execution. With all that being said, I'm ready for next week! |

If Ryan or any of his receivers would have made a play or two when they had a chance, Houston fans would be saying roughly the same thing as you are right now. Our injury riddled defense held the #5 scoring offense in the NFL to 17 points. The #1 defense in the NFL held us to 10. I'm certainly not happy about it, but we lost to a very good team on the road in a very hostile envirnment. It happens. Something tells me Ryan and Julio catch fire next week in Carolina. |

RE: Im done with football until the playoffs
I'm with you coop. I should clarify that my raw sewage comment was squarely aimed at the offense. Sure, the D made some mistakes but they also made some plays, and as you pointed out were far from full strength. They absolutely gave us a chance to win.
Trying to think of some positives... it's funny, I just realized this may be the first game this year where Owens played and I did not yell at him a single time. Now, I may have missed some things but it's usually blatant. Ryan had far from his best game obviously, made some frustrating throws, made his share of mistakes etc..., but when it counted he put us in position, the dude has the 4th quarter magic, he has the ability to win you some games that you should've lost but he needs help. Julio was about as unclutch as a car with a manual transmission and a teenage girl at the wheel while learning to drive a stick shift for the first time on the hills in San Francisco. But, since most everyone else lost (haven't watched Lions/Saints yet), the loss doesn't hurt us as bad as it could have. My hope is that Julio indeed has that work ethic and attitude that we hear about and takes it upon himself to use this as motivation so that the next time we call on him to save the game he will look more like Larry Fitzgerald than Larry the Cable Guy. I would much rather him do this today than in January. |
