Off Topic: Has anyone seen the other board

It's simple really. It's everyone's choice how they want to be a fan. One choice is to look at the big picture:

43-21 (0.672), 3 playoff trips

Previous 4 years
30-34 (0.469), 1 playoff trip

It's clear to me which is better and that we are trending up. We are finally a team that has gotten ourselves into the mix. Have we shit the bed in the playoffs? Absolutely. Do we need to improve? Obviously. Are we accepting mediocrity? Hardly, it looks like we are going to be replacing both coordinators, I mean this is as far as you can go because any talk about getting rid of Smith and/or Ryan at this point is A) delusional and B) just plain fucking stupid. Hell, this is EXACTLY what people have been asking for! Personally I feel pretty good about it. I'm not going foam at the mouth and vomit all over myself because the team didn't give me the outcome I wanted on Sunday. It sucked, we lost and looked like complete jackasses doing it and now it's the off season. I can look to the future or wallow in the past.

To be honest, if the previous four years are something that is going to cause you any amount of distress perhaps it is time to consider that you just don't have the stomach to be a Falcons fan, it's not for everyone.

Another approach would be to throw a tantrum because Matt Ryan sucks and he always will and he never gives me the wins I want and I'm so smart that I can predict that he will suck no matter what system he is in even though there is plenty of evidence of NFL quartbacks thriving in a new system, and even though there is no way in hell that he is going anywhere, and teams throughout sports sometimes taking half a decade to break through, rendering my impassioned complaints into a sea of futility.

So Headshot is 26 and hates Ryan. Let's take a look at that. It means he probably became a Falcon Fan during the YKW era, and that's why he dislikes Ryan, because he has his lips stuck to Michael Vick's ass end.

Notice he only showed up back here after the playoff loss. Also, it's obvious he has no idea what it takes to be an NFL quarterback, much less to be successful as one.

I can't think of a single loss this season that I blame on Ryan. In fact, if it weren't for drops of perfectly catchable balls, the team could have had two or three more wins.

HS claims he was playing scared and needs to be more ballsy. Ballsy is what led to the two interceptions in the first half last year against Green Bay, that turned that game from a shootout see-saw match into a blowout. I'm not saying he shouldn't be ballsy, but Matt Ryan is not the problem. When it's Ryan's responsibility to stop the other team on third down; when it's Matt Ryan's responsibility to open a hole and guide Michael Turner through it, when it's Matt Ryan's responsibility to catch his own passes, then I'll say he is the problem. As of right now, he is the Best Quarterback to ever put on a Falcon's jersey, and among the top 5 or 6 in the NFL.

43 wins in his first 4 seasons. No one else has done that. That is not even counting multiple 4th quarter comeback victories. Dumping Matt Ryan would be akin to what the San Diego Chargers did a few years back with a guy named Brees. I think even someone with Headshot's limited football intelligence knows how that turned out.

Peyton got shut out in his 4th year, against a New York team in the playoffs...I don't see the immediate problem with a young player being a little timid under bright spotlights...Ryan is only human. all we can hope he does is grow...calling him a pussy QB is going a little far.

it's a fair comparison...the main comparison was to let people understand that even, arguably, the greatest QB to play the game took a while to win in the playoffs...even had a shutout...people need to remember Ryan is young and stop acting like he's peaked.
