I don't know why people feel the need to compare an 8th year QB to a 4th year QB. Let's put it like this.

Eli Manning wishes he was as good as Matt Ryan is when he was in his 4th year.

Matt Ryan hopes to be as clutch or as good/better than Eli Manning is in his 8th year in the league.

That's where they are and we are as viewers of the game.

depending on when the thread was made, I don't understand how anybody could've picked Eli over Ryan...but yeah, at this point, Eli is better than Ryan...its still to be determined who will end up having the better career though. Let me ask you this though, is Eli better than Peyton, right now? Can I look up a post from you 2 years back where your answer is the same as it is right now?

Its not that Ryan is bad or worse than Manning.
There isn't another QB I would want for this team.

The problem is the excuses for Ryan's post-season play always fall on things that have nothing to do with Matt Ryan.

1. Defense - Ryan has nothing to do with the performance of the defense and the defenses performance has nothing to do with his game.
2. Offensive Line - Manning was sacked 6 times and hit 12 times against the 49ers yet he still put the team in a place to win over and over again. Flacco was sacked 3 times and hit 7 against the Pats. Both threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs. Against the Giants Ryan was sacked 2 times and hit 7 and couldn't even get 5 yards per pass. The Giants don't have world beaters on their o-line.
3. Not enough talent - This one gets batted around a bit but is without merit. Ryan has some of the best weapons in the league. I just wonder why they disappear at important moments during the season
4. OC/Coaching - Where was Bob Bratkowski during the playoff game? Whenever Ryan came off the field after a failed drive he stood alone with that dumb goatee and even worse that lost look on his face. Whenever Brady has a bad drive his OC and QB coach are there going over the snapshots with him instantly. This is the easiest fix. We have a new OC coming in, no word on the QB Coach. This could change everything.

During the Giants game it looked like Ryan was waiting for something to happen instead of making something happen. Alex Smith ran around yesterday and more so the week before, willing the 49ers to a win. Eli made big plays against us. Ryan couldn't even get inches. This happened in most of the playoff game against the Cards and after the pick 6 last year. He is much better, we see it all year long, than he appears in the playoffs. If its mental, I hope they get the staff in here to fix it.

I think the question is a bit rhetorical, when you ask a football fan who is better i willing to guess 90% plus will say eli, but this is AFT, so i curious as to the position of the few the proud the Ryan fans. Most curious about their particular feelings now, after watching Eli and Ryan in this years playoffs?
