Rainbow Eli Manning, y'all still think Ryan is Better.
So i was reminiscing through these boards and i ran across a classic radical vs swift thread.
lots of debate about Eli and Ryan.
So after whenevr that was to last night, can radical, phocis, atljbo, etc still say RYAN>>>ELI?

I think the question is a bit rhetorical, when you ask a football fan who is better i willing to guess 90% plus will say eli, but this is AFT, so i curious as to the position of the few the proud the Ryan fans. Most curious about their particular feelings now, after watching Eli and Ryan in this years playoffs?

What says y'all?

ps there is some real gold in these here threads

I find it amusing that you spend as much time as you do digging through old threads.

I will interpret that as a NO!!

I am curious, your position was Ryan>>>Eli.

any change of opinion, now?

I believe someone said he was a turd, etc?

so is your opinion Ryan>>>Turd, or Turd>>>Ryan.

time has a way of moving the needle, especially after these playoffs.

Lets talk!
Rise Up?

Yes. If we had a Pass Rush AND a decent OC calling plays, YES I think he is as good or better!

Can Eli throw the ball better? Yes, I'm a believer.

But I honestly can't decide who has worse decision making skills, Eli Manning or Joe Flacco

The difference between Ryan and Eli is that on his very best day, Eli is one of the 3 or 4 best QBs in the league. Also, Eli is a stone cold killer in crunch time, and Matt Ryan hasn't quite developed that yet.

Eli is in his 8th year in the league. Ryan is in his 4th. Ryan is ahead of where Eli was in his 4th year, even though Eli had more playoff success. It is no surprise Eli has taken a step forward this year. I have posted before that all the elite QBs of the past 15 years did not make that step until somewhere between their 6th and 9th season in the league. Aaron Rodgers done it in his 5th season. He was the only exception. Some of the QBs were considered very good and even made pro bowls before that step, but that was a difference after they made that step. Peyton Manning was very good from the time he was drafted, but he did not become elite until his 7th season in 2004. Tom Brady won 3 Super Bowls without being an absolute elite QB IMO. He was very good, and good in the clutch, but he was not close to the QB he is today when they won that last Super Bowl. Drew Brees did not become elite until his second season in New Orleans IMO. He had been in the league for years before that.

It just takes a long time to master the art and craft of quarterbacking in the NFL. It takes a minimum of 4 years experience to become a great and elite QB in this league from looking at history. Even then, most QBs need 6,7, or even 8 years to move from the good/very good category to great/elite category. The good thing is that even when your QB is just good/very good you can win Super Bowls. But you need a very good defense to do it.

I don't know which is more pathetic: Swift sending one of his little followers to troll for him, or the fact that Swift actually has followers.

Anyway, run along back to the kiddie board, tigger. The grown-ups are talking here.

Eli was garbage at the beginning of his career. Ryan will be better when he has as many seasons as Eli. And lets not forget that D has stepped up in BOTH playoff runs so its not all Eli
