RE: "Controversial Threads" area - a suggestion
ok I found it. actually I don't think Phocis was saying it was a thread about bountygate, but rather that it was going to turn into a long, drawn out, quido against the world type of thread just like the bountygate thread was.
maybe I'm wrong, but if it's new headlines, I don't see a problem with DISCUSSING it. as long as it doesn't turn into that type thread again.......and as pointed out, there really wasn't a need for a new thread, when there was already a coach hiring/firing thread started. edit to add: And yes I did miss the last few pages of that one, last I'd seen of it was the 'pick of the litter' posts Chew on THAT, Petunia!

You conveniently glossed over those two, and that was just the surface I was scratching. Once again on Gregg Williams, if you would read Vitt's testimony it covers Gregg Williams and why he was fired. And yes, he was fired unlike some have stated here. As for the hanger on guy, he was eventually proven to be harmless. The league dropped any claims that his emails were anything more than stupid jokes. Saints Fan Since 1967

I don't blame you one bit Guido... That place is a cesspool. What's your "home" forum?

Very similar to this site with a bit more traffic, but less than SR.com. Good people and open to good discussion. You are welcome to join. I have been given Carte Blanche to okay those that I know are cool. Most here I would classify that way. Saints Fan Since 1967

He paid a restitution of $160,000 for his $350,000 defrauding of the NFL BEFORE he came to NO with Bush... I'm sure "harmless" is not what the NFL calls Michael Ornstein. Or, as Payton called him, "point man for the Saints during their trip to Miami for the Super Bowl, arranging everything from daily gifts for players and their wives to strategically placed Saints billboards throughout the city." Calling him a "hanger on guy" is really pretending not to notice the elephant in the room that your team was happy to buy peanuts for. Remind me of how the salary cap works, and how gifts outside of it work again? No wonder Loomis can be a genius with the cap... just have a criminal provide gifts to wives and players (or like he did for Bush under the table) to keep that money off the books! Problem solved! Too bad he's not there any more, and Brees had to get actual money. Formerly SBC Falcon

RE: "Controversial Threads" area - a suggestion
So this thread with a great idea turns into the coaching and bounty thread in one?
There is plenty-o-bitching going on and trust me, it's heard. There's a solution but it needs to be thought through. And that thread was closed because of the amount of PM's I got from it. We don't need to watch a Saints coaching thread stay at the top of the forums for the next 3 months. That was the #1 complaint about the bounty thread.

Just another thought, since these Saints bounty/coaching threads won't go away. Why not make something at the top under where "Enter the Chatroom" and "Archives" currently is located. Something like "Other NFL Teams" or "Non-Falcon Football Threads"? I actually kinda miss the old structure that's still visible under the Archives. The Man In Black
