RE: A Plea to Radical on the Saints Thread
I'll consider it at a later date. Here's the deal though.
By the very foudnation of this board, the number one rule is that you do NOT personally attack other posters. I could write a small novel repeating that point over and over again, but I'm not going to. Simply put, don't personally attack people. You can say you think their posts are moronic, stupid, an insult to your intelligence, etc., but calling them a dumbass and whatnot is unacceptable by board rules. On this board, as a moderator, I cannot and will not waver on that. Now, here's the deal, you do NOT have to read or respond to anything anyone says on any message board. You don't have to react and start typing in a fury your thoughts on them, their post, and everything inbetween. So, if someone bothers you that much, you have the ignore button, use it. I've used it, and if you are serious about not wanting to engage someone, then you're not going to be bothered about it. Now, all bounty talk up to this point, as far as I have seen, has been confined to that thread and that thread only. You do not have to read it, and it has not stopped any discussion for other topics at this point. I personally am going to step away from this for a day or so before I decide whether or not to re-open the thread. Beef will be allowed to return Sunday, before the game. After that I will be removing this thread and things will be handled by staff from that point on. This is needless drama, and that's all it is. Radical |

A Plea to Radical on the Saints Thread
I would love for there to be a rival fan poster such as McMvp, an Eagles fan. Guido is about as far from that as you can get. Sure I can ignore his posts but I have said it before this place is lots better when he is not around. I'm not leaving but it doesn't surprise me that he would be the cause of others leaving.

Absolutely 100 agree with this statement. I am of the opinion that he comes here with the soul intention of causing strife and tension on this board. He's a troll, and all his "I'm not a troll, I just want to talk football" doesn't change the fact. The board is a much better place without his presence. |

I think most of his time in the Saints Bounty thread amounts functionally to trolling. Unfortunately, I think he actually believes what he is saying, which means he isn't trying to troll, but the effect is the same. I also think it's troll-ish, for example, to suggest that the Saints are going to go 12-4 after the way they've started, but that's pretty minor. For the most part, however, Guido is not a problem. I would prefer a bit heavier handed moderation of the troll-ish comments, but I think banning him would be a mistake. And in the end, I'm not a mod, so what I would prefer in terms of moderation is really just subjective and it doesn't really matter. I think the mods here do a good job, and while I don't want this place to become like AFMB where trolls run rampant, I don't think that's happening, and I sure don't want it to become like rival boards where if you say anything negative about the home team you get a permaban. |

And, while 12-4 might be extremely difficult, this team ran off nine straight to finish last season and 13 straight two years before that, so it isn't outside of the realm of possibility. RE: A Plea to Radical on the Saints Thread
I like the idea of a central thread for that topic. It's not terribly hard to avoid flipping out.

Not to make this into the "Saints Bounty Thread Part 2", but I do think it's fair to point out that Paul Tagliabue is employed by the law firm that represents the NFL in all of the bounty litigation. If that's not a conflict of interest, then there is no such thing as a conflict of interest. |

RE: A Plea to Radical on the Saints Thread
I'd vote for the thread to be unlocked, but I'd also be in favor of us moderators redoubling our efforts to insure that people respect each other on this site. And be extra strict in that particular thread.
