Not that Dunta is bad, but I think teams just recognize that he is the easier completion, and much less likely to pick the ball than Grimes.

On another note... regarding your thread title... New Orleans also had a close one over a win less Carolina team with the same score 16-14 PHP Code: <iframe src="http://free.timeanddate.com/countdown/i3m8z5nf/n25/cf12/cm0/cu4/ct0/cs0/ca0/cr0/ss0/cac900/cpc000/pcfff/tcfff/fs100/szw320/szh135/tatTime%20left%20to%20Opening%20Day%20Kickoff/tac000/tptTime%20since%20Event%20started%20in/tpc000/mac000/mpc000/iso2013-09-08T13:00:00" frameborder="0" width="282" height="66"></iframe> |

And I agree with you, he is a much better player than Dunta when he is giving it his all. But the dude has 7 kids by 5 different women. The Jets actually had to give him a 500,000 advance just so he could pay his child support requirements and stay out of jail. For better or worse, not the kind of thing Blank, Mckay and Co. are going to take on. |

Cromartie after his rookie year was worse than Dunta Robinson with his injury. There was a reason the Chargers were the 31st ranked passing defense in 08, and I promise you it wasn't because they were throwing to the other side.

I don't know if Cromartie was better or worse than Robinson during the last two years, but I do know that Cromartie has been better than Robinson this year. |

It just felt ominous with conversion after conversion. William Moore turned around the karma big time with that perfectly timed blitz. That William Moore hit was big no doubt, but I think that the Roddy strip was a miriacle like THE missed field goal in the Saints game. Wow, I don't know how in the world we pulled those two games out. I could use a more confortable win, my nerves are shot.

I mean, Clements may or may not have been dumb for not running out of bounds earlier or getting down, but Roddy White earned that. The missed FG was just a gift from Hartley and the heavens. I hear you on the nerves. I think I might hit the alcohol a little harder this Sunday. |

RE: OK, so it wasn't the ass kicking that we all expected.......
IMO, Grimes is clearly the best cover guy. I was at the San Fran game and I couldn't believe how far Robinson was playing back off of Crabtree. I did notice several plays where San Fran put Grimes out on an island and ran a screen or sweep to his side. If the LB doesn't do his job, it could've been ugly. Give credit to the play calling and to stellar LB play. We need to protect Grimes a little more for me to feel comfortable. Dunta does have outstanding instincts and shed some blocks and made big tackles. I was much more impressed with his tackling than his cover skills.
What I haven't read a lot about is Peterson's lack of speed. There were a handful of plays that turned into big gains because Peterson couldn't get there or simply whiffed. |

The ugliest was probably the screen to Davis where he ran around Peterson like Mike was standing in quick sand. |
