Abe has not been an elite pass rusher this season. He is still very good, but he is not the dominant player that he once was. Nolan will find a NT to move towards more 3-4 sets. Once that happens, our athletlic LB's will make plays. Remember what Nolan said, at the beginning of the season, he wants five guys with five sacks.

We will draft a replacement for Turner. Thank you to MT, he was a terrific Falcon.

The Niners are not great. They will have their problems next season. I would not worry about any other team. We need to worry about ourselves.

I am optimistic. You should be too.

Well we some how manged to have even less sacks this season than we did last season and gave up more yards than we did last season and had no assemblence of a run defense.

Agreed. Nolan had to use the weapons on the roster. This draft will be defense-heavy. Add a real NT and some athletes to back him up and we will have a very good defense.

Let me say this: the defense gets all the blame for the second half meltdowns, but an offense that can actually keep the chains moving would make our defense looks worlds better. We NEED the best OL we can accumulate. That needs to start with a real RG. Konz will slide over to his natural position of Center and he needs to have a MASTER BLASTER parked to his right. If we had that kind of OL, we would have easily won this game.

Why should the Falcons offense have to score every time get the ball in order to "protect" the defense? I'm old school. I believe that if you score 24 points on offense you should be able to win 80-90% of the time.

How many possessions did the Falcons have in this game? 10 if that many? That's not enough possessions for an offense this good. When you have a defense that gives up a lot of yards that means the other team is on the field a lot which limits the offensive possessions which means if the offense doesn't score on every possession your chances of winning are very slim. I pointed out my concerns in this area months ago because it was that much of a problem.

that's kind of the point of an offense, especially ours. We have two #1 receivers and the best TE to ever play the game, no reason why we shouldn't be scoring on every possession. But to not score at all during the entire 2nd half is inexcusable. We score 1 TD or 2 FGs in the second half and the game is ours, but we turn it over twice instead and squander the one turnover that the D managed to deliver us. D gave up just as many points in the 2nd half as they did in the first, O just never showed up after halftime.

I am not arguing against upgrading the defense. Changes are in order. But, we just witnessed two play off games where our offense could not advance in the second half. We did not score a single point in the second half......not even a FG!

We do not have the OL to compete against the top teams in the league. The good news is that we can acquire that OL pretty easily.

24 points should win NFL games! PERIOD! I don't care if they all came in the 1st quarter or the 4th quarter. Since when does it matter when the points come? 24 points should be enough to win games. Keep blaming the offense all you want for getting shutout in the 2nd half. But if the defense does their job the 24 points scored in the 1st half would have been enough to win. The offense had almost 500 yards.

I'd rather win games 13-10 than to have to hope my offense scores 35 every game to win.
