It's about time that someone reconized that we need a LT BAAAD. I always hate moving up in a draft, but if we only had to move up 10 to 12 spots to get this guy, lets do it because, maybe we are a run first team, but Matt needs more time to throw the ball. I still like Baker, but we could move him over and he'll do just fine.
You see, the tackle position doesn't have all the glitz and glam and that warm and fuzzy feeling that some of the other picks give you, but we need a LT unless you feel that we have someone on the roster that can fill that position now. If we don't do that, I gotta think CB first pick to play nickel. I will hold out for a DE in FA. I'am not so sure that this draft sucks, but it's not great. At least we have one. |

Yes Castonzo would be a great pick. The problem is that too many teams ahead of us will think the same way.
Time to face reality. The top DE's and LT's will be gone. So, what do we do next? We look around for a starter quality CB. If Dowling and Harris are not deamed starter quality, then we look around for the best player available. That player may very well be Kyle Rudolph. I can live with him. He blocks well enough to give Baker a hand. He is an excellent receiver, so Ryan gets another target in the middle of the field. Take him and move on. |
