He's just too fragile to play inside the tackles. My problem now with him, is last injury was non-contact, and most of them will effect speed/agility of him since they are all leg/lower body injuries. So it doesn't really matter where you put him, he just can't seem to withstand the torque required in the NFL to play. If you bring him back you are bringing in a known injury prone player and maybe taking a spot away from a good draft pick or up and comer. I love what he can do when healthy, BUT he can't stay healthy!!! Jerry, Moore, and Baker are all getting blasted because of the inability to stay healthy, and Jerry and Moore were rookies!!! Same rules should apply to Norwood, he has been injured for the last 3 years chronically, where he is missing major parts of the season!! I just can't see using a roster spot on a guy who will only play half the games in a year!! It is time to move on!!! Maybe Norwood will get someone else to give him a chance but light weight, long legged scat back are not the best formula to survive the rigors of the NFL. Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

RE: Norwood is officially DONE
I still don't see the Falcons bringing him back in any form at any position. He's too much of a risk. There are some guys that I would take a chance on, but Norwood being injury prone as it is, I don't see him making too good of a comeback from this. If he does make a come back, he now moved himself from being a viable speed option to being a 3rd-4th string running back. Too bad, he had a bunch of talent.

Let's look at the upside for Norwood.
At least he's getting a SuperBowl ring this year.

RE: Norwood is officially DONE
If anyone up in this thread is actually surprised at this news, just punch yourself in the nuts until you pass out.
It was only a matter of time before Norwood got hurt again. Sucks for him that he got a season-ender on a contract year. This is definitely his last year as a Falcon. "TOUCHDOWN! MY GOD, A TOUCHDOWN! WE THREW IT TO HAYNES! WE JUST STUFFED THEM WITH FIVE SECONDS LEFT! MY GOD ALMIGHTY, DID YOU SEE WHAT HE DID? DAVID GREENE JUST STRAIGHTENED UP AND WE SNUCK THE FULLBACK OVER! … WE JUST STEPPED ON THEIR FACE WITH A HOBNAILED BOOT AND BROKE THEIR NOSE! WE JUST CRUSHED THEIR FACE!" - Larry Munson broadcast UGA vs Tenn, 2001 Rest In Peace, Larry. You will be missed. GO DAWGS! HUNKER DOWN! |
