Too many nfl fans are dog owners. How'd that turn out? |

Vick's on field accomplishments will not be near enough to get him into the Hall. The benchmark for modern era QBs to make it into the HOF is roughly 30,000 yards/200 TDs. Either that, or a Super Bowl win or two. Vick will not achieve either. Even if you combine his passing and rushing yards, Vick would still need to average 3,500 total yards over the next three seasons to reach 30K. Considering that Vick has averaged just 2,400 total yards per season during his career and a natural regression to the means is all but inevitable as he leaves his prime beginning this season, there's virtually no chance he reaches that number. That leaves Super Bowl wins. Unfortunately for Vick, he has proven time and again - as recently as last season - that he simply does not possess the decision making skills necessary to lead a team to a Super Bowl. If he hasn't learned by now that selfish and stupid doesn't win the race, he never will. Too bad they don't hand out the gold jacket for number of mentions on ESPN. Then Vick might have a fighting chance. |

RE: vick contract
3500 yards for the next 3 years is not unimaginable by any means. He had more than that last year in less than 12 full games lol.
LOL @ "even if you combine his passing and rushing yards" Why wouldn't you? That's the whole point. His square peg game doesn't fit in your round hole requirements for the HOF. Sorry. Nice try though! Leaves his prime? Your opinion is your opinion. Just like last year when you laughed at the idea of Vick taking over as starter when Kolb got healthy. You were pretty smug about that as well. Just sayin. You say all this stuff as if its fact and destiny lol, you're confusing your fantasy with reality. |

He's a shoe in for the dogfighting hall of fame, and has repeatedly won the coveted "Valtrex customer of the year" award for introducing more and more customers to the wonders of Valtrex. If it weren't for Michael Vick, GlaxoSmithKline would have never got the Leavenworth Prison account. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3CXS04cy...re=related |

RE: vick contract
Phalcon Phil, i'm not trying to bash you, but you seem to put your Vick fandom pretty high on a pedestal. Would you say that Vick was a great QB for the Atlanta Falcons after say, his 2nd year in the league as a starter? Don't you remember that amazing first year he had where he could do no wrong. Teams had NO clue how to stop him because he was fast, had a great arm, and was just able to turn a broken play into a thing of beauty? What happened that next season? Teams had tape on him. I see that being a recurring thing for him.
This past year Vick played out of his mind, because teams forgot how to defend against him and took his age for granted thinking he couldn't run anymore. With the help of a great supporting cast in Philly he was able to continue that path until the end of the season when teams started to figure him out. It's going to be an amazingly bumpy ride from here on out for that young man, and I got my popcorn ready.

RE: vick contract
Vick did the dog and pony show to get people to forget who he was and get his money back. Doesn't mean he hasn't changed.
Philly was wrong to give him this contract before he played a real game this year, especially after that preseason debacle. The will deserve what they get as well. Formerly SBC Falcon

I see that being a recurring thing for him. No offense taken, we're all men here and we're all fans. I don't let my feelings get hurt and I respect your opinion Hart, along with everyone else. Nobody figured vick out. They figured knapp and mora out. They didnt figure him out last year, they just exploited a garbage oline. Similar to the problems we had here. Im not going to get into this argument again theres no sense in it. Its been rehashed over and over we can argue over what came first the chicken or the egg and we will always see different. Lets just appreciate that and move on. You might think I'm ridiculous in my opinions but they are my opinions and they turned out to be not so ridiculous in the end. Like I said, I'm not the one who said Vick would never play in the league again. Never start for a team. Never play QB again. Never be more than a gimmick wildcat. Never going to be more than a punt returner. Never going to get another big contract. When I stated why all these things were absurd I got the same reaction I'm getting now. I know my opinion is nowhere near as outlandish as portrayed by a lot of folks who are the ones with outlandish opinions. |

RE: vick contract
This new contract is great news for the rest of the league. We all know how Vick handles success, fame, and attention. What made him successful last season was the chip on his shoulder and the sense of urgency, with that gone he'll regress to his old self.

RE: vick contract
Figured Vick out.
Last 8 games 2010. Eagles went 6-2 Vick threw for 2200 yards 15 tds 6 picks. Comp pct over 60. (overrated stat but i put it there for those who worship it) QB rating over 100. This doesnt include rushing stats. Now who figured out what? last 4 games stats are still good. 8 tds 5 picks almost 1100 yds qb rating in the 90s. once again, no rushing stats. these are great stats for any qb. so in the time period he has been figured out? he is on pace for a season with 4400 passing yards 32 tds 20 picks. this is over the last 4 games of the season. of course he was slowed down some, just because he didnt score 5 tds every half after the washington game people came to the moronic conclusion he was figured out. LOL Behind that line those stats are amazing. Sorry you dont see it that way. now tack on 257 rushing yards and 4 tds over those last 4 games and define "figured out" for me please. |
