RE: vick contract
LOL @ 6 seasons when he only played 4 of them. NICE SPIN JESUS! When you have to manipulate facts to prop up your argument, that's when you know it's time to throw in the towel.

The only time I would have laughed at the idea of Vick as starter is after Andy Reid came out and expressly stated that Kolb would retain that role. Nobody at the time had any clue that he would come back a few days later and do a complete 180 on that decision. And you give an awfully lot of weight to Vick's rushing, going so far as to call him a QB and RB in one. Tell me, how many RBs do you know of that didn't begin a steep decline when they hit their 30's? Face it, Vick just has too many things working against him to sustain the type of production necessary to reach the HOF. If injury and/or suspension doesn't get to him, then age surely will. |

Vick has amply proven during his career that, for one reason or another, he is completely incapable of stringing together multiple seasons in which he doesn't miss significant playing time. What makes you think that trend suddenly ends now as Vick enters his age 31-35 years? |

Vicks rushing numbers were on top of GREAT passing numbers. his passing numbers ALONE were great. The rushing was just a bonus and a big one that WILL put him in the hall IF...... IF he continues at this pace for the next few years. With all those things you mentioned working against him, it's great that there's still people out there telling him what he'll never be able to do even after he's proven yall wrong so many times in the last 2 years. Punt returner. CFL. AFL. Back to prison. Clipboard holder. Career 3rd stringer. Nobody will sign a dog killer all the fans will abandon the NFL. Any other straws left to grasp at? Not many. Average players hit steep declines. Vick doesnt fit in that category. Hes the type of athlete that has skills that will keep him competitive for a long time ala darrell green bruce smith jerry rice t.o. etc... As much as it may pain you to admit it, Vick isnt your average athlete. As long as he stays healthy he will continue to be a force. Using Mora Era stats and games as proof that he is destined to fail shows desperation to salvage a lost argument. Vick is here to stay. Glad to see him come back after the debacle that was the Mora regime. |

LOL get real. he missed 1 partial season in his 5 full seasons played here. hardly bolsters your argument. nice spin move though maybe you can teach that to the young guys on our dline! |

Like I stated on the other board, it's good to see that we aren't the only suckers that overpaid that sorry mutha f*cka.
Yes, I'm Black and I'm saying I don't like Mike Vick and I'll never forgive him for the hell he put the organization through. For those who don't like my opinion, fuck you. "TOUCHDOWN! MY GOD, A TOUCHDOWN! WE THREW IT TO HAYNES! WE JUST STUFFED THEM WITH FIVE SECONDS LEFT! MY GOD ALMIGHTY, DID YOU SEE WHAT HE DID? DAVID GREENE JUST STRAIGHTENED UP AND WE SNUCK THE FULLBACK OVER! … WE JUST STEPPED ON THEIR FACE WITH A HOBNAILED BOOT AND BROKE THEIR NOSE! WE JUST CRUSHED THEIR FACE!" - Larry Munson broadcast UGA vs Tenn, 2001 Rest In Peace, Larry. You will be missed. GO DAWGS! HUNKER DOWN! |

RE: vick contract
He played for the Falcons for 6 years.
Its unfortunate that he could not unseat a veteran starting QB his first year. Ryan did that just fine. And its unfortunate he broke his leg because he isn't fast enough to out run an LB in preseason. Ryan is a QB and gets rid of the ball so he doesn't put himself in a position to take a potentially hazardous hit. Sorry Vick was Mr Excitement for a few seasons but was a total waste for most of them in Atlanta. And if you don't think his QB play wasn't at the top of things to blame for the collapse of the Falcons during his last two years of football here, then I'm sorry for you. |

Actually we got him for a pretty good deal. We wouldnt have been paying vick near as much as philly is this year. We'd be paying less for him than half the qbs in the league the way the contract was structured. It was actually a pretty good deal for both sides. I dont even think vick would have been making 10 mil this year under that deal. A lot of people lost sight of the fact that 10 years is a long time and his contract was going to be undervalued at the back portion. His contract never crippled us as some people like to suggest. We always had money to sign folks til half our defense was on IR. Poor draft and money management not to mention other areas of the team (namely strength and conditioning) left us fucked. It wasnt a bad contract had the proper staff and personell been available. We saw last year in Philly what he was capable of with playmakers and decent coaching. |

LOL Vicks qb play wasnt the greatest when he left i never said it was. Just that it had to do with more than just him. Some people act is if he was the weakest link in a guaranteed juggernaut of a super bowl dynasty. LOL GET REAL and give it up already |
