RE: vick contract
ive got a riddle for those on the vick was figured out bandwagon.

who threw for 785 yds around 80 qb rating 7 tds 1 pick comp pct in the 50s qb rating in the 80s in their last 4 games last year.

ill give you a hint. he played 2 of those games vs the panthers and one vs the seahawks. was he "figured" out last year? no. but let's not ignore the reality here.

so weve got a guy that threw for more tds, ran for FAR more tds, threw for FAR more yards, ran for FAR more yards, higher compl pct higher qb rating higher ypa over his last 4 games than the "mystery qb" but he was figured out? whats that say about the mystery qb? yeesh. he had twice the yards as our mystery qb over those last 4 games.

RE: vick contract
In Dec. 2004 Vick signed a 10 year $130 million dollar contract with the Falcons becoming the highest paid player in the NFL and the face of the franchise.

In March 2005 Ron Mexico was sued for spreading herpes. He had a 73.1 QB rating and 8-7 record. The Falcons missed the playoffs one year after going to the NFC Championship game

In Novemeber 2006 after a very poor performance against the Saints Vick was booed by Falcons fans. He responded by flipping them off. He was fined. He had a 75.7 QB rating and 20 TD passes. It took Vick 6 years to throw 20 TD passes. Ryan did it his second year. The Falcons finished 7-9 and the Jim Mora Circus packed up their tents and moved away.

We all know what happened next.

So for their $130 million dollar contract what did the Falcons get?
If you include Dec 2004 and the rest of that season, playoffs too, into the mix:
passing 5291 40tds 23int rushing 1781 11tds
Football record: 17-18 1 div title
Prison record: 23 months in a Federal Prison

Just for comparison:
Ryan during a 3 year span:
10061 66-34 33-13 record 1 div title 2 playoff appearances
Aaron Rodgers during the same 3 year span as Ryan:
12723 87-32 27-20 record 2 playoff appearances 1 SB win
Neither is in the top 10 of highest paid players.

So what did the Falcons get for their $130 million dollar contract?

When Tom Brady and Peyton Manning sign the richest contracts in NFL history they bring home trophies, MVPs and rings. Mike Vick brings home another kind of jewelry: handcuffs.

Good Luck Philly. History don't mean nothing to Ookie....

So what you're saying is, that the whole vick being figured out thing is being kind of overblown and the parroting of the talking heads on that issue is getting out of hand. I do concur.

Sorry man Vick is a lousy QB.
He brings nothing but heartbreak and STDs where ever he goes.

RE: vick contract
Like I said, if vick is lousy, I'd hate to see what you say about mystery qb who has been blessed with a far better roster and coaching staff and can't win a playoff game.

Funny because the way you're on his nuts I would've thought he shared something with you.

And you seem to forget that your wonderful Vick too failed to win a playoff game in his amazing year.

RE: vick contract
It's not so much about where he's been, but where he's going. I think last year will be known as his best. In the end stupid always wins and while Vick may be a lot of things, smart isn't one of them. We shall see. Given that he plays for the Eagles I really hope I'm right.

RE: vick contract
The key to the playoffs is getting there.
In three years Ryan has gotten there 2 times
In 6 years with the Falcons Vick got there 2 times

If you honestly can't see that Ryan is a better QB and better human being and a better investment for the Falcons, I am not sure why you are a fan.

RE: vick contract
Ryan isn't the better qb. Not yet at least. Could he be in the future? Most definitely. At this time? No. Being of that opinion makes me no less of a fan than you. That's not even what this was about, but I had to put the stats out there to see what people thought of a qb that had lower stats than a guy who was supposedly figured out and shut down toward the end of the season. Of course Handcuffs and Herpes replace logical debate.

Jesus I'm not going to get into a spin session with you. In three full seasons vick had the falcons in the playoffs twice and won twice. its no secret hes far from the only one to blame for the debacle that was the 05 and 06 seasons. In Ryan's 3 full seasons hes had the falcons in the playoffs twice and played like a mediocre qb. Facts are facts.

I dont care what kind of human being somebody is as long as the team is winning.
