Boycotting sports never works. Has it ever successfully been done before?

Ha! And I dont think the value of a dollar decreasing necessarily fueled this, just the owners seeing a steady increase of incoming revenue that they want to capitalize on. Also, boycotting usually works better when there is a viable competitor for consumers to transfer to...college football is probably the biggest competitor but it is so top heavy it's hard for fans to attain the same "any given Sunday" feel of an NFL game...assuming that's the biggest draw for the NFL compared to other organized football, and even organized sports.

The Saints' fans tried their version back in 1980-81 with the bags. It wasn't a boycott since fans still wanted to go to the games, but they showed their displeasure with management by wearing the bags (per a radio campaign by Buddy Diliberto). Not sure how effective it was, but it got a lot of exposure.

Saints Fan Since 1967
