NFL: Would you mow grass to pay bills? Would you?

I'd think it shows the character of the player who cuts grass instead of taking out loans to pay for their bills. I'd imagine they would try to get a place in their new town and such, and would require a certain dollar amount. Without the requisite signing bonus, taking the side job shows they are to some level a grounded player. Good for Mr. Clay. He is a guy who won't go broke after finishing his NFL career (see: Bryant, Dez).

It's funny how often we focus on the Kenny Britts, the Aqib Talibs, the Mike Vicks, the Dez Bryants, and we forget that for all the bad apples in the NFL, there are just as many quality, hardworking people. Nice read.

Or maybe they've spent all their money already and lived well outside their means.

If I owned a lawncare business, and I had a NFL player on staff, I'd advertise that to death.
