Things have def changed since then and there is a lower tolerance for it, but just two days ago I think a woman car got vandalized and they put "KKK" on it and the woman got burned. I was raised to respect others no matter how much they disrespect you. However, I do not respect people that use color as a way to cover up for an underlying issue.

Color has nothing to do with the cam situation. But I agree 100% that racism is still everywhere. Mainly those racist are ghetto or redneck. Rednecks don't like the city and many in the ghetto don't like the country. I think its good that this separation exists Smile

I'd love to see everyone get along, but that wouldn't happen in our lifetime. Best we can do is teach our kids to respect others and treat people as you would want to be treated.

In all seriousness though, my black neighbors hate the Mexican maintenance guys, the Mexican maintenance guys hate the Indians at the store up the road, the Indians don't like the Chinese people at the buffet down the road, the Chinese don't like the arabs at the dry cleaner across the street and the Arabs don't like the jewish guy at the accounting firm next door, and the old jewish guy is terrified of young black guys. Its like a perfect circle of hate. I love 'Merica.

I agree. Knowledge is power. Its sad to see that some kids dont understand anything about the Holocaust, slavery, etc.

There was an article recently where a predominantly white school portrayed Rihanna and Chris Brown in a play and it was a re-enactment of the domesic violence situation.

There was outrage about it because the kids painted their faces black. Anybody who knows history knows about the racism involved with "black faces." Typically the black faces were accompanied by pink lips to reference the look of a monkey.

I don't think these kids knew anything about that and I think its because of a lack of education.

Update on Warren Moon's statement:

He didn't use the word racism. He said it was stereotypical. He said his only gripe was that people always compare black qb's to black qb's.

Like the comparison of Cam Newton to Vince Young. He did say that everybody doesn't do it, but a lot of people do.

He said he agreed with the criticism. I can't fault him for the statement because people do that with white rb's or when Meier was drafted he got compared to Finneran and some people thought it was racially motivated.

Lesson in all of this is to listen to the actual comments. Once I heard the comments as I posted earlier, then I got a better understanding

What I heard the second time around was that he was crying that Newton was being compared to Young.

But nobody cries when white players are only compared to white players. The only people that cry about things like this are black people. I wonder why?

Going through and hearing about racism is a difficult thing to get over. Its kinda like you will never understand unless you experience it.

Most of my white friends will never go thru what I or others have experienced, just like I may not go thru what you have experienced.

Warren Moon will never forget what he experienced and to his credit he did say vice versa. He said all QB's should be compared to all QB's.

Also White QB's never had to "break through" the barriers. Same as White coaches. The very reason why we have affirmative action or the Rooney rule. Black QB's had to break through thr idea that he wasn't intelligent enough to play QB. All he could do is run. He couldn't lead a team.

Some of us feel that the barrier is still there to dome degree. When race is brought, it isnt to get the person in trouble or to just do it. Its done because some feel the equality is not quite there yet, it has come a VERY VERY long way.

White QB's never needed to cry about things because being compared to a white QB was the goal in thr first place. Even looking at the perception of your question is what makes people upset. Equality is the goal of the ones who aren't ignorant or try to abuse the race card.

Even the idea of the "race card" is upsetting because itd being treated like a ploy or a strategy when its really just feelings, but we only have ignorant black folks to blame for that. Some use it when it isn't necessary so the annoyed white folks brought up the term to counter it.

Oh and I'm comfortable talking about and can see past things but I would refrain from using the word "cry" because it make it seems like its not a legitimate gripe at times.
