I just think this is a case of a big group of sore losers. Lately it's been as if anyone who "thought" they should have won a game that actually loses it suddenly get's all whiny and uptight about things. All of a sudden look at that, accusations out the ass.

You're right. I have been seeing more and more of it. We talked about that a couple of weeks ago. Nobody simply gets beat anymore. The other team is always accused of cheating or the refs are accused of giving it to them.

It's crazy.

This has always happened.

The closer it gets to crunch time the more apt people, including players, are to blame losses on something other than shitty play on the field.

Looking back as recently as twenty-five years ago you never heard stuff like this.

The NFL was a different league 25 years ago. Times change.

Well, my reply was a bit misleading.

Not only has the NFL evolved quite a bit but life itself has changed when you are talking about nearly three decades. The main thing that did not happen 25 years ago was the easy media access to everything someone says; whether it be player, coach, or fan. I am quite positive many people made the same complaints 25 years ago, you just did not hear about it. Wink

Actually I think not. Things have changed. Thirty years ago I was covering sports as media. I never heard this type of stuff. I never heard excuses from losers. What I heard was what they should have done better to win.

It is a different time. These last generations have been less self respective. It seems like nothing is their fault.

Maybe just ramblings of an old fart, but it's the way I see it.

I do agree that previous generations were much different than current ones. The rest, we just have to disagree.

I can not lend the weighty distinction of being an old fart to my argument while I am in my 30s, but I am definitely not naive enough to believe that 25 years ago no one complained about refs or the other team.
