You really shouldn't be here passing around your propaganda, you'll get what's coming to you. If I was coaching I'd bring some scrub in off the street and have him get to Brees' knees. That'd be his job, 15 yards for the loss of him would be worth it, hell 30 yards would be worth it, that's what Roman is coached up to do, so I'd take him out too. Once he got into some sort of pile my back up offensive lineman 300+ guy would be going Suh on his kneecap.

Get over it. I can't count how many tackles I have seen by the facemask over the years. There are several every week. Just because it is a player on the team that stands in the way of the Falcons some of y'all are out for his neck. And there is a world of difference between making an open field touchdown saving facemask take down and intentionally trying to take out someone's knees.

The way I saw it Harper got burnt and reached around to make the tackle and just happened to grab the facemask... Unintentional but he's still dirty.

I didn't think Harper's face mask was intentional. I don't have an opinion on if he's dirty, all I know about the guy is that he is a helluva pass rushing safety but not very good in coverage.

You nailed it, Peyton. The Saints are aware that he is a liability in the coverage, but his pass rush and run coverage more than make up for it. Look at it this way, ... if you were in a3-4 defense you wouldn't expect your weak outside LB to be great in coverage, but you would hope he could get to the QB and cover the run. Look at Harper as a WOLB in a 3-4, which by the way, the Saints do play at times.

I sure am glad that you have no animosity toward the Saints. You seem to be unduly obsessed in your hatred of these taint folks, though, whomever they might be. I hope you and your taints work things out so that you can someday embrace them as you probably desire down deep.

Sorry you can't tell me that face mask was not intentional his hand does not catch it. It yanks downwards on top of that he then makes sure he walks over the player. I am not if the pitch fork brigade variety on this. But let's not sugar coat it.

Put any player in that position and he does that. I'm calling it a flagrant facemask.

Nope. I never said it wasn't intentional. What I AM saying is that it was the only possible way to stop the player and as you pointed out, put ANY player in that position and they would do the same. If they didn't do everything within their power to prevent the TD, within the rules or not, they would get their butt chewed out at film time.

And, yes, it was clearly a flagrant facemask. There is no arguing that at all.
