Earl Morrall won the NFL MVP and still couldn't win the starting job......because he was backing up for Johnny Unitas. In 72, Morrall took over for an injured Griese and won 9 straight games...then two more playoff games......then got benched in the Super Bowl. Guy couldn't catch a break. Good job. |
