Paying for cable today is a fool's errand.

Which website do you use??

Kick out cable writeup.
How to watch live sports without cable or dish.

This indoor air antenna ($80) gets me all the local networks in 1080p HD for free. About 75 TV stations total, including ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and several others. Plus a ton of useless hispanic channels too. However, it does not pick up premium channels like ESPN, TNT, movie channels, or NFL Network.

Then I have one of these ROKU 2xs' ($99) on each of my 3 TV's.

After that, I pay $30/month for Comcast internet 20mb down/5mb up (comcast/xfinity gives me free access to ESPN3), $8/month for Netflix, $8/month for Hulu Plus, and then I spend $350/year for NFL to go subscription and get to see every NFL game plus RedZone is included.

The only hickup is with NFL to go I have to load it up on my laptop and plug that into the HDMI cable going into my TV and play it from there rather than the ROKU.

Before I cut the cord, it was costing me around $200/month for cable tv, internet, and phone bundle package. We got rid of the phone and only use our cells now (my alarm service taps into my cable internet), the cable tv is gone, and we're down to just internet. I save about $2040 a year. Then add the $16/month for the 2 subscriptions ($192) and $350 for NFL to go, and I net about $1500/year savings and still get everything and actually WAY more than I ever had with just cable tv. ESPN is pretty much the ONLY thing I don't get that I might care about, but in reality, I can pretty much get what I want off ESPN.com.

This shit is the future. Cable and dish TV sux bawls by comparison.

Thats pretty much our set up minus the antenna, and My media PC takes the place of the Roku...

DirecTV with Sunday Ticket, and their highest HD package (minus movie channels) I'm paying 40 dollars a month with an HDDVR. I crush everything you just posted as far as how much you were spending vs what you're saving now. I pay 24.99 a month for 24down/3up internet. All you have to do is talk to the right people and DirecTV will hook you up. I also have NFL to go, so I can watch all the games on my phone. Really came in handy driving back from my parents after Thanksgiving when we were stuck in traffic.

Except satellite sucks and drops anytime it rains hard or the wind blows. I've had dish and direct and both constantly went down during storms.
