NFL: This article actually made me lose respect for Lofton

Putting aside the bounty bickering for a moment, the only issue I had with the article was the sentence saying that Lofton weighed 241. Lofton consistently played in the 255-260 range and that was a constant bone of contention with the coaching and training staffs. He preferred to play heavy and never made an effort to drop weight that would have made him faster and more mobile. The upside was that he was a very sure tackler five yards to either side of center. The downside was two-fold. He was far less good beyond that range than he could have been. And the extra weight contributed to the deterioration of his knees.

I'm sure the Saints imaged those knees, and I'm sure they had some reservations about giving him a five-year contract. I'm equally sure he won't finish it.
