That's crazy. Yes, there were awards if any player was knocked out, although not many Saints would have collected on that, but not to the point of targeting specific players on a regular basis. Nobody has even implied that, including Goodell.
No I agree that it most likely was not every single game but I would venture to say that those 4 QB's weren't the only ones "bountied" upon...lol.

And with the emails and Vilma putting $10k down on his own and the investor or whatever he is sending the email to Payton about 5k on Rodgers, I really don't believe it was something forced by Gregg Williams. It was his baby but I think that's the player unions way of protecting their players.

When you say another Super Bowl, are you implying that your team and coaches are planning to cheat their way through another season of dirty plays and scheming to injure other players? I thought that was behind you and your team.

The only way to bring down a player like Gonzo is to knock his legs out from under him. That has nothing to do with targeting a player. It has everything to do with trying to stop an almost unstoppable player.
So tackle at the thighs and ankles then. Harper was specifically targeting the knees to take Gonzo out and you know it..

You see what you wish to see and there is no way to convince you otherwise.

That seems to be your intention actually. Go watch that game and prove me wrong, please.

Sorry Guido but I agree Harper was going at his knees that game. I'm not saying there was a bounty but he was clearly going for the knees in that game.

I never considered Vilma a dirty player but Jenkins and Harper I never was a fan of those guys plays. Always seemed dirty to me. The way Harper was going at Gonzo's knees wasn't in typical fashion

I respect your opinion there. But, I have been a twitter follower of Jenkins ever since he was first drafted. It is hard form to believe that someone as entrenched into his Christian religion could be dirty.

As for Harper, have you watched him try to tackle high against the big guys? It is sad.If you want to bring a big guy down you gather him around the knees. That doesn't mean you are trying to hurt him, it means you are trying to keep from being embarrassed.

So if I, as an outsider were to offer $10,000 for someone to knock Lofton's car off the road, according to Guido and the aint fan mentality, that's ok...right? I'm not trying to end a career, just give him a reminder, but if has to be hauled from the accident in an ambulance, well that's just part of the risk of driving. Isn't that how it works?

Oh so you're a Twitter follower of Jenkins? I guess you know all about how devout he is and how strong his beliefs are. I mean, you know what they say, words speak louder than actions

Yeah, you can gather him around the knees, but you don't launch your head, shoulder, or body right at a guy's knees. I've seen Harper and other Saints players do that. That's just dirty..

RE: This article actually made me lose respect for Lofton
Putting aside the bounty bickering for a moment, the only issue I had with the article was the sentence saying that Lofton weighed 241. Lofton consistently played in the 255-260 range and that was a constant bone of contention with the coaching and training staffs. He preferred to play heavy and never made an effort to drop weight that would have made him faster and more mobile. The upside was that he was a very sure tackler five yards to either side of center. The downside was two-fold. He was far less good beyond that range than he could have been. And the extra weight contributed to the deterioration of his knees.

I'm sure the Saints imaged those knees, and I'm sure they had some reservations about giving him a five-year contract. I'm equally sure he won't finish it.
