The water table is so high you can use post hole diggers to hit serious water. Why do you think the graves are above ground vaults? The graves fill with water and the casket floats out and the Metarie cemetaries are a prime example. The whole city is artificially built with the levee system and without that only the French Quarter and a couple of other areas would be dry and the rest would be a brackish swamp. Believe me I know New Orleans. I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

When someone mentions a swamp, I think they are talking about a swamp. I hunt and fish in honey island swamp which is a 70,000 acre SWAMP,a place that tourist (yes, even those from georgia) spend $$$$ to actually see real wildlife.Anyway, I'm not gonna change anyone's thoughts,so,... |
