If the Falcons do well this year and word gets around that they might make the cover. I recommend we work up some sort of petition to keep them off. I don't think anyone will get on the cover. The spot is usually reserved for players with huge egos and no sense of team. Ever see a Patriot on there over the past 10 years or Payton Manning? You would think Brady or Manning, the two best players in the league for the past 15 years would appear on there....

Actually he did get hurt. It just wasn't widely known.

Drew Brees played with low-grade MCL injury

Saints coach Sean Payton confirmed Monday that Drew Brees played much of the 2010 season with a "low grade" MCL injury.

There were rumors of a knee injury all season for Brees. It didn't cause him to undergo surgery or miss time, but he wasn't 100 percent while throwing a career-high 22 picks. Brees' injury is not believed to have been as serious as the Grade II MCL tear that knocked Jay Cutler out of the NFC title game.

I think Decoud caused that injury in the first game against the Saints at the Superdome. Brees got sacked and his leg bent backwards very awkwardly. He got up and walked gingerly. It may not have been Decoud tho.

On another note, isn't that illegal to not advise of an injury to not place Brees on an injury report with accurate minute details expressing what part of the body is injured.

It was reported as a knee bruise, but it was never sensationalized. Brees pretty much kept it to himself the entire year. He wore a knee brace for about three games. I don't think they determined he had actually had a tear until the season was over.

Tackle Jeff Otah (knee) is out, as is linebacker Jamar Williams (neck) for the Panthers. Reggie Bush once again won’t suit up for the Saints, while Roman Harper (hamstring) and Pierre Thomas (ankle) will both be game-time decisions after missing practice throughout the week. Drew Brees will also wear a brace on his bruised knee, but will play.
