NFL: Texans release RT Eric Winston

Just broke news that the Texans are releasing Eric Winston.

Didn't know if maybe he'd be someone the Falcons would like to take a look at. Maybe have him play LT, or move Clabo to LT.

I know it's probably not something anyone has an opinion on, but just seems like most of the post have been about the Saints and Bounty-gate, or the Cap amount. Just wanted to change it a little bit.

Comment: Winston brings good initial quickness and body control. He understands blocking angles and leverage and works to keep his pad level down to leverage his blocks. He is quick to recognize twists and stunts and picks up loose rushers when uncovered. He plays with a good tempo and will work to finish blocks off and will show a bit of a nasty temperament. He is not great at reacting to and adjusting to counter moves when in space but generally does a good job of playing within his limits and under control.

Not sure if his move to RT was because his skills were lacking for a LT or if Duane Brown was that good. He will be goinhg from a zone blocking system to a more power run system so that is a concern but not as much if he were a guard or center.

He was one of the best right tackles in the league last year and I think he is really going to get paid, so he's probably out of our price range not even including the possible position swapping that would be involved if we got him.

i think we should go after him, if we do manage to sign him, you bump CLabo back to RG, and u fix the Right side of the Oline, sign MCneil or Gaither and our Oline is much improved. draft a C to replace Mcclure when he retires.
