Still the key is the encouragement to injure a player. Whether this affected only 1 of the 27 players involved it did affect someone's playing style. And although nothing came off it...something could have. The reason anybody defending this has a leg to stand on is because nobody got seriously injured.

BUT if someone's career ended bc of this or was lost for a season or more then it becomes a heck of a lot more serious. Defenders are looking at the results and saying it had no impact but that POSSIBILITY no matter how small or large is a HUGE deal. Lets not overlook that. Im just appalled at the amount of people defending this to any degree.
