NFL: THE MERGED VICK THREAD

Even though we seldom agree on our philosophies for obvious reasons, I can understand the hatred of Vick from your true fans. I went to the final Saints home game against the Falcons in 2004 on the day after Christmas. Vick was injured and didn't play, but there were more fans wearing opponents jerseys than I had ever seen at a Saints game and they were all #7. Now, I'm not a racist at all. I was born and raised an Air Force brat and never thought twice about race until moving south in 1967, but I can honestly say that near 100% of those fans were black. That in itself meant nothing, but upon talking to a several of them I discovered that that everyone I talked with was somewhat local and had never been a Falcons' fan until Vick came on board. I had suspected this, but it was confirmed that day.

Interestingly enough, that was the final game played in the Superdome before the bitch Katrina came through.
