NFL THE MERGED VICK THREAD

RE: The Mike Vick Thread
Hate is a very honest emotion and I hate vick for what he did to the Falcons and what he did to those dogs. He has not lived his life as a person who deserves to be admired and he is a skeleton in the Falcons closet that needs to be swept out.

Whether we win or lose next week vick is a sorry peice of shit.

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

Gotta love those "Falcons" fan who root for Vick more than they do for the Falcons. I'll admit that he's the reason that I became a Falcon fan in the first place, but after all that crap that happened I moved on from Vick being my favorite player and when he became an Eagle I was done with him completely.

RE: The Mike Vick Thread
I am not ashamed to announce that I am a mike vick HATER! i do admit that when he was here, i absolutely LOVED watching him play. i remember when we drafted Norwood, the thoughts that anytime either of them had the ball, there was the chance it could go to the house! It was exciting to watch them, no doubt.
When Vick started showing his true colors, i began to wonder. Take himself out of a game because there was no hope of coming back. Flip off the fans, do stupid stuff like get caught with that false bottom water bottle in the airport. Sign that huge contract and take that money KNOWING he was breaking a law that if caught could wind him up in prison.
Obviously, he had that 'hey i'm mike vick, and i can get out of if' was proven, even after he started off trying to lie his way out of it. But, i do believe give the guy a chance to turn his life around, he did his time. BUT....and here's why i have such a strong hatred for him. To come out and openly admit, that as a Falcon, he never applied himself; he never studied; that he basically didn't care about us as fans, or his team mates. Okay, put some of that blame on the coaching staff who didn't really try to take this young guy straight from college and mold him. Would he have turned out differently if Dan had been kept around? i can't help but think yeah he would have. Mora certainly wasn't the guy to try to help him mature and mold him. Thats for sure.
there comes a time when everyone has to step up and take responsibility for their actions. It appeared that MV was trying to do that. Now it appears that was all just a show, appearance just to try to get back into good enough standing to be allowed to play ball again and earn a big paycheck again. I hate his dumb punk thug ass as much as i've ever hated anyone. I call him that, not for the dogfighting, but for the lies about it, for basically saying 'fuck you fans' so that's what i say back, fuck you mike vick. glad you got that big contract so the team i'm a fan of can recoup part of the money i feel like you stole. Now i wish you nothing but bad luck. go ahead, show your true colors again as you've begun to do, and let the real punk ass thug you really are.

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

I don't hate Vick didn't do a thing to me. Im a fan of good football. So, I am a fan of many non falcon players. I also believe you dont build a franchise solely for one player. So in that I blame the whole falcons org As well as Vick. If things don't work out in Indy are the fans to hate Polian and Manning(partially)?
Vick didn't personally do anything to me, in the the same way that Bobby Petrino didn't do anything personal to me. Do I still hate Petrino? You bet your ass I do, I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep if he got hit by a train. Vick left this franchise in shambles for his own arrogant selfishness, which left the Falcons and their fans in a lot of pain. Did it not affect you as much? I'm happy for you and I mean that with no sarcasm intended. With me however, that wasn't the case at all, I guess it's safe to say that I'm too much of a Falcon fan. The comparison of Manning to Vick if the Colts don't work out is comparing apples to oranges. If Manning started an illegal dog fighting ring immediately after signing the largest contract in NFL history and was thrown in prison for a couple of years leaving the Colts up a creek without a paddle, then it would be perfectly normal for Indy fans to hate his guts. With that said, Manning would never do that. Why? He cares about his teammates and isn't a "me-first" QB, he also has an IQ that exceeds double digits.

if vick didn't do anything to you then you're not a real FALCON fan.

As arrogant as it may sound, I absolutely agree with this statement. There was no way any true fan just shrugged that off for Joey Harrington and didn't skip a beat through that hellish season.

My $0.02:

I simultaneously get but don't understand the continued hatred of Vick. Yeah, it sucks what he did to us, but had he not done that he'd have continued to fail to live up to expectations for us year after year because he wasn't trying or studying film.

I'm over it. I only care about this season right now. I think it was good Vick was given a second chance and I'm glad he's doing well. Hopefully his creditors will finally get paid off with his new contract. He's still fun to watch. As long as he's not playing us I hope he does well.

I have other football things to worry about. Like the fact that we have the worst offensive line in the NFL, two crappy coordinators and a GM that is making somewhat questionable moves. That's what concerns me.

I only care about this season too, as for being 'over it' i can honestly say i'm pretty well happy with the team we have, give or take a couple. but then we'll always have SOMEONE who doesn't play as well as we'd like. and i do agree with all the 'if he hadn't..... we wouldn't be where we are" comments, But as monoxide so elequently put it about pigtrino, if MV or BP got hit by a train, i wouldn't shed any tears for sure. and i wouldn't piss on if he was on fire

Chew on THAT, Petunia!
