He should be a lock in my opinion, but he's not. I do think that he'll get in eventually.

Terrell Davis is probably the best comparison, but he has one big disadvantage compared to Rodgers. By the measure the NFL uses to grade QB performance, Aaron Rodgers is the best QB to ever play the game.

That....the league MVP award hell win this year, the Super Bowl MVP he won last year, the single season QB rating record he got......I think the guy is first ballot no matter what.

Although in spite of all that, Tom Brady continues to prove why he is the best ever, in my opinion.

As for best ever, I still think you can't take Joe Montana out of the conversation

I wasn't declaring Aaron Rodgers the best ever.

I was saying the that using the NFL's statistical measure, he is the best.

Joe Montana had the best career, but I think this season by Rodgers, up until the unhappy ending, was the best a QB has ever played in this league.

By the way, Joe Montana agrees with that.

As do I.

Agreed, but:

Brady has won three SBs, been to four, might go to one or two more before he is done;

Led the highest scoring offense in league history IIRC;

Threw for 500 plus in a game;

Threw for 5000 plus in a season (okay, the game is shifting);

Currently holds the record for most TDs in a season;

Plays in the salary cap era. I am just going on what I remember, but my instinct tells me, without researching it, that Montana's first and last SB winning teams had a lot more continuity than maybe even Brady's team from 2007 until now;

and finally, Montana had Jerry Rice. No question that Joe helped make Jerry, but Jerry helped make Joe, too. Rice is the GOAT in my opinion. No QB other than Steve Young has had the advantage of Jerry in his prime to rely on.

Yeah Brady has been impressive no doubt. One thing I like about him the most is that he has done with all different kinds of talent around him.
