FUCK!

Really, dude?

I mean...really?Undecided

Not that I'm crapping all over their hire, but dude isn't better than Nolan given that he's has had better talent to work with defensively.

"TOUCHDOWN! MY GOD, A TOUCHDOWN! WE THREW IT TO HAYNES! WE JUST STUFFED THEM WITH FIVE SECONDS LEFT! MY GOD ALMIGHTY, DID YOU SEE WHAT HE DID? DAVID GREENE JUST STRAIGHTENED UP AND WE SNUCK THE FULLBACK OVER! … WE JUST STEPPED ON THEIR FACE WITH A HOBNAILED BOOT AND BROKE THEIR NOSE! WE JUST CRUSHED THEIR FACE!" - Larry Munson broadcast UGA vs Tenn, 2001

Rest In Peace, Larry. You will be missed.
GO DAWGS! HUNKER DOWN!

The more I thought about he and Nolan before Nolan was announced for us, I started to lean towards Nolan. Nolan gets results with lesser players. Spags had the luxury of a GM that stockpiled stud DE's.

RE: Spags to Aints
It's a good pick up because the Rams were the team that best shut down the Saints offense all season long. Spags as DC by himself has a good track record and has learned under great tutelage but to also bring the knowledge of how that Saints offense was defended against helps well.

I think it's more so his Defensive line skills because the Rams tore that pro Bowl filled Saints O-line up. It's just a plus to his resume.

RE: Spags to Aints
I sort of looked at Spags and Nolan as roughly equivalent, so I was happy with our hire, but wish the Saints had hired an idiot, instead of one of the two guys I wanted.

It is not a bad d-line, it just wasn't being utilized efficiently. Spags can do that and I expect a few key personnel adjustments will be made this offseason to insure he can do just that.
