RE: Signings Around The League
Nnamdi Asomugha is visiting the Saints today. He is a native of Lafayette, LA and Rob Ryan has been lobbying hard to get him added. The Saints are currently about $6.5 million under the cap with further restructuring possible.
On a side note, Ed Reed, another NOLA native, is also in New Orleans today following his unproductive meetings with the Texans. Saints Fan Since 1967

Not only are the Falcons making moves to ensure that we win the NFC South but the Saints are as well! thank you for the help! |

RE: Signings Around The League
Two underwhelming moves but could maybe improve the saints defense to maybe 31st overall

RE: Signings Around The League
Jake Long has signed with the Rams, who now have the #1 and #2 picks from the 2008 draft on their team. And don't forget they have 2 first round picks for the next 2 drafts, so they are a team that should be on the rise.

^ They still have a mediocre qb, no receivers, no running backs, and no defense. Anything is a rise for them.

They also had to sign Long because they whiffed on Jason Smith in 2009. He was supposed to be a sure-thing LT like Long. He's currently unemployed.

The Eagles tried to plug him into a zone read and react scheme. The Saints had the same problem last season with Spags trying to force the Saints into the zone with personnel better fitted for man to man. Rob Ryan is moving the Saints back the man coverage and Asomugha would be a perfect fit, but I am not sure if the Saints are willing to fork over what he most likely wants. Saints Fan Since 1967

Your track record for claiming something is "perfect" for the Saints is at rock bottom considering all your claims about last year prior to the season. Nothing you said last season came true. Your team was a complete mess, which contradicted everything you said would happen. I know you're a blind homer x10, but you really should stop making such definitive type claims and using words like, "perfect fit". The Saints are only $5.5M under the cap, and that doesn't include Roby's or Drescher's figures yet. Which means you're probably at best $3M under the cap, or maybe less. And you still have a handful of UFA's unsigned (not sure which ones are coming back, but it'll hurt depth if none do), and Chris Ivory being RFA still has a chance of being offered elsewhere, so you'd have to match or lose him. Plus you need about $4M just to sign your rookies from the draft. I don't see where you guys are going to have enough money for anything else in FA. It looks more like you'll have to cut more folks just to stay under the cap after the draft. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/cap-hit/ http://www.spotrac.com/cap-tracker/nfl/2013/ |
