Maybe a little makeup is in order to the Rams. Goodell should award the Rams the Saints 1st round draft choice in 2013 since the Rams did nothing wrong.

Missing the point again. What made the problem worse for the Saints is that they didn't stop even when the league asked them to stop. Later they denied this and tried to cover it all up as well. Simply stated the organization's leaders thought they were above the rules. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember Watergate, but I am. It is always the coverup brought on by arrogance that "the rules don't apply to me" attitude that brings out the most stinging rebuke. Find another team who did all that (and not just put on some bounties) and you will have found another team in line to meet the same fate as the Saints.

They hired him while the investigation was ongoing. They took the risk and hired him. Thems the breaks.

I don't think Shockey was the snitch. Saints players are even saying that.

I keep hearing the excuse of its been going on elsewhere as if that should diminish what the Saints have done.

Goidell has alteady mentioned that there is no evidence strong enough to punish any other teams. But still we're talking about the Saints and not any other team.

Its like u get caught for murder but u say well there are others doing it too and they haven't been caught...what about them? Lol

And the biggest thing was that the Saints were given multipme chances to stop it and they lied about it and covered it up.

Funny point that most people are missing is that IF the Saints would have taken heed to the warning of stop this or else then they would not have been penalized at all. It would have been a warning and go on with the rest of your day.

I'm not saying that it diminishes anything. You were talking about the fan's reaction. I said there would be the same fan reactions anywhere had this happened to their team.

I agree that other fans teactions would have been similar including some Falcons fans. Doesn't make it the correct response. The big problem here is that they were warned and ultimately given a free pass.

If the Falcons did this and was warned then I would be upset with the Falcons to continue to cover up a lie with another lie and another one. I know some if not all of us have had an adult say "Don't cover up a lie with another lie" Eventually its gonna catch up to you and here we are 3 years and the punishment is 10x worse than what it would have been

If they would have been stopped when initially warned then they would have been unpunished like the other teams in the league that have been doing tbis since the 80's.

Can't do the crime and then get upset with the consequences. (This last statement was moreso for Saints players complaining. Like Brees and Greer)
