NFL: Saints Lombardi devalued!

Over the next few weeks as the Bounty Gate investigation unfolds it will slowly take the air out of the Lombardi for Saints fans.

I can hear the air squeaking out like a fat balloon lightly pinched at its valve.

They can deny their victories are not tarnished within their personal circle jerk, but the rest of the football world already has the asterisk next to Super Bowl XLIV and last season's Division title.

You want a championship for many reasons... the biggest for the respect and boasting rights conceded and acknowledged from others...

Never had any respect for the Saints anyway but regarding their titles....

I'll sign here saying no respect earned or due.

i think part of their punishment is they should have to put a bag over the trophy with some eyeholes.....

It really doesn't devalue anything. They still have one and we don't.

If all it takes is more money to encourage football players to play harder then maybe Van Gorder should have rethought his 3rd down strategy.

I don't think it devalues anything, it was unsportsmanlike and immoral but it wasn't cheating on the same level as the Pats, not even close. There was really no advantage gained from what they did, its just shady as hell. TO be honest I don't really have a problem with it, what I do have a problem with is the refs ignoring the blatant late hits on QBs by the Saints, that is the real concern IMO and where the actual corruption lies. But as usual the NFL will look the other way when it comes to their incompetent officiating.

as an edit to my post about the bag on the trophy, the bag should have a blemish on it under the right eyehole...

No way does it devalue the NFL Championship they won, How it affects them in the future is a different story... will have to wait and see if Goodell has anything to say about it... I laugh at the fact that they actually put money on stuff like that. Pretty sure most NFL players dont need additional incentives to knock the bejesus out of their opponents....
