Tick... tick... tick...

Tongue

You know, all voodoo and magic comes with a price. With the way this off-season has gone, I'm really starting to wonder if those swamp people did not use dark arts to save their franchise and town after the flood, and are now paying the price...

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Well, now Peyton is getting divorced.
Surely this isn't related to being suspended a year.

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Looks like Brees won his Franchise Tag Arbitration ruling. That means there is no way the Saints can pay him less than $20 million per year, as that's what the franchise tag this year and next year would average out to.

Actually the $16M tag will stay as is bc they can't punish the Saints for a ruling that wasn't clear. But next years tag will get the 144% percent increase of necessary

That's where I was getting the $20 million average from. This years tag is $16.4 million. a 144% increase of this is $23.6 million, which adds up to $40 million over the next 2 years.

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Aints should still franchise him for 2 years. They won't save anything with a long-term deal, and if he gets hurt in next 2 years, they aren't on the hook for more money. I think Brees will have to sign the tags. Aints gain nothing by doing a deal, and potentially lose plenty.
