NFL Saints Bounty Thread

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
I will admit that it is hard to trust Ornstein's statements given the fact that "mischief follows him" but me using Ornstein's past albeit not so distant to claim he is lieing about it being a joke and is the exact same as Guido using assumptions on his part as evidence of all of this being a fabrication.

So my trust of his statements is a result of my own opinion of the matter but it by no means make it factual. So I'm not personally going to do that because it's the same thing that annoys me about Guido.

Nope. I haven't forgot that. I'd like to know his exact words. Could he have said that it was a joke about a bounty?

Your reasoning you gave is because Payton was punished and decided to cooperate

BUT thats is the worst excuse because

What about before he was punished or while he was interviewed?

We don't know what he said in his interview with the league. Duncan knows what his source told him. According to the source Payton said the email line was an ongoing joke and that he had never read the email before that day.

And I said that he was punished and was likely told not to tall about any more. Based upon his other restrictions if wouldnt doubt it.

That's all I ask. Keep an open mind.

Two things...I have absolutely no reason to believe the NFL lied or "forgot to mention" Payton's full statement.

You obviously have an agenda to make it seem like the NFL is lieing about EVERY SINGLE thing including Payton's statement.

Secondly, what I am saying is BEFORE he was even punished he could have come out with a statement just like Gregg, Vitt, and whomever else advising that his statement about the email was that it was a joke but he didn't. Once again that excuse for why Payton did not CLARIFY his statement about the email is HORRIBLE. He had PLENTY of opportunity to clarify whatever it is that you think the NFL is fabricating.

Could he have told everyone he was a flaming homo and liked to have sex with animals?

Could Payton have fully admitted it was a bona fide pay for injury bounty?

Fuck, Guido, you can't keep using assumptions as if they add weight or significance to your argument. It just doesn't work like that. You keep using assumptions and then slowly but surely begin to use what you assumed as if it's reality. All the while, ignoring actual context and logic.

What we know at this moment is that Payton admitted the email was in reference to a bounty. That's it.

What we know at this moment about Ornstein is that he has a reason to lie and has no credibility. His claiming it was in jest came after the fact and we can't reasonably accept it as proof.

And there is no objective proof of the email being a joke as it's also clear the "source" is someone tied directly to either Ornstein or Payton, and is therefore also biased.

Actually this is what annoys ALL of us about you Guido. You DON'T have an open mind. You are using loosely based ASSUMPTIONS and claiming it as fact.

You assumed the reason for the NFL not releasing more evidence is because they don't have anymore.

You assumed Hummel resignation was because the NFL investigation was bad.

You assumed Hargrove's declaration not specifically mentioning a bounty indicating there wasn't one.

You assumed all the apology statements from the various coaches not mentioning a bounty as a claim there wasn't one.

And the key thing is that you took ALL of these assumptions and touted them as facts. I probably missed a few. Like Mary Jo White and such. You sir should keep an open mind and realize that there is a stronger possibility of the NFL being correct than it is of you being correct. I'm just sayin.

So, you admit you don't have any quote from Payton saying it "could be" a bounty or accusing the NFL of misquoting him? A few pages ago, you were saying that Payton said something different.

And again, why didn't he say it was a joke? Your problem with your defense of the Saints is that it requires people to do things completely out of character. If there's no bounty, then Payton simply declares the email a joke and the NFL goes away.

If the NFL lied about what he said, Payton would be shouting from the rooftops. If the Saints organization was innocent, why haven't they made a move to support Williams, Payton and the players?

Duncan's source in his article from two months ago did say that Payton said it was a joke. Apparently the NFL didn't believe him at the time.

You realize that this is an example of an aints fan? He just keeps making noise so we will pay attention. I would recommend we stop so we can actually talk about Falcons news as opposed to arguing with a brick wall that will never changes it's opinion.
