I'll tell you. It is if it hits his bosses in the pocketbook. The owners. What is the number one threat to the owners right now?

The 1500 plus lawsuits from former players.

Believe me, there is MAJOR panic going on with Goodell right now. I feel made what he was told by his lawyers would be a good preemptive move to mitigate the massive number of lawsuits coming down upon his leadership.

I also feel that there was a little smoke with no real fire concerning the Saints, but given the timeline it was the best avenue to build a case of caring.

So, given a few dots very, very far apart, Goodell took out his omnipotent pencil and began connecting unrelated dots.

But, what if something contradicted his design? It was, of course, ignored.
