I read an interview with one guy that said Ornstein was so cheap he wouldn't lend a friend a quarter for a coke. He said there was no way he would pony up $5000 even if he had it. I'll try to find that interview. Face it???? I have only heard the email being referenced as a big deal when it first came out. Secondly, do you really think a person big into the NFL scene doesn't have someone on the outside that is able to handle his expenses or other resources to obtain money? Of course it's easy to believe that the guy us frugal with although he is in debt at the same time. Damn you will believe anything in the papers and articles said by anybody except Goodell or the NFL and anybody associated with them. You should get off the tip that everybody who agrees with your opinion is telling the truth. |

I'll try to find that interview. Face it. There IS something there in the email. A bed full of sleaze-ball fleas that Payton and the Saints clearly don't mind sleeping in. Pictures of top brass cavoting with this "scumbag" and receiving emails with admitted references to bounties. But just like Hargrove's declaration, it's all simply "nothing". I mean nobody really thinks smoke means fire and people are really too stupid to figure out rational inferences and add up all the logical markers. If the media and Saint's fans on Bleacher Report keep pushing bias and sensationalizing the story, nobody will ever be able to think for themselves and apply their own sense. You realize you're still in the middle of the 5 stages of grief, right? You're still slap in the middle of Bargaining with a bit of residual Anger mixed in. It's really quite incredible to watch someone living this pathetic process out. |

Yes, you did hear that it was a big deal when it first came out. That is because that was what Goodell kept saying. He is basing a large part of his punishment on that email. But, now that it has become public domain it is being questioned BIGTIME as viable evidence of anything. Keep tuned as Goodell's case keeps crumbling. Saints Fan Since 1967

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Its possible that the email wasn't considered true evidence. Goodell and White would clearly see the circumstances surrounding it.
So if all you are holding onto is a possibly debunked email... the NFL isn't that stupid.

I almost respect your opinion. But, that is all it is ... your opinion. But, I am beginning to get worried about what you might do as this case keeps crumbling. You have dedicated yourself to enjoying the downfall of the Saints. How did you put it? The Quagmire? What will become of you if the two measly players that received punishment also get a reprieve? I hope it doesn't take too much of an emotional toll on you. Yes, face it. What you were told to believe (by the same press that is now questioning what they were first told) you accepted without question because it was the Saints involved. Now that serious questions are being raised about the validity of evidence against the Saints players you are turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the very same source. You sir have gone through what is called denial. I think you might have heard of that term. You chose to ignore the very sources that you built your initial belief upon. Then, you entered that second stage of anger. That was when the questions began to overwhelm you. It is quite clear when you entered that stage. You were even warned by the site admin that you were losing it in a way. Knowing you, I have a feeling you will remain in this stage for quite a bit as I cannot see you moving on to bargaining. Anger appears to be a more comfortable range of emotion. But, I'm here for you if you need me.

Phocis, it was touted as true evidence. As was claims of what was hard proof of players involvement in the declaration. To date two of the most important pieces of evidence claimed by the league have come to the surface and BOTH have been debunked. Don't forget that the NFL and their lawyers and their hired doctors claimed up until very recently that concussions suffered during play had no more of a detrimental affect toward brain injury than any other occupation. Can you still with an honest mind tell me that the NFL isn't that stupid? Especially with around 1500 lawsuits looking them in the face? No. That email has been thrown out there as solid evidence all along. With all of the doubts wouldn't you think that the league would share even one tiny piece of evidence that was believable? If they had more I believe they would. We have seen it all. Saints Fan Since 1967
