RE: Saints Bounty Thread
I predict a shit load of deleting in this thread and elsewhere. I fully expect this (non)contribution to be my lone in this thread, I'm over this story. I'm much more interested in discussing how our O-line will shape up, how the players will fit in Koetter's and Nolan's schemes, and whether Matt can successfully grow his first mustache.
Punishments have been handed down, and just as with Vick it's time to move on. |

The sifference between the bounty subject and those others you have mentioned is that news and articles are coming out about it in droves every single day. So at this point it is the more popular subject especially considering Guido's stance on it and in my opinion the hilarity of it. I would respond to those threads...most will pay attention to multiple threads at once. This singular thread should not deter you from discussing those things and I hope it isn't. |

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Cool. It will be later tonight before I can start posting articles. My other office doesn't let me have access to this site.

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Hargrove, paragraph 8:
"Williams and Vitt repeatedly stated that they 'care about me, and... if we all stay on the same page about this, it will blow over.' They told me that when the NFL asked me about any bounty or bounty program, I should 'just play dumb.'" Clearly there he states Williams and Vitt asked him to play dumb. And clearly it's Guido who needs to re-read the declaration again since he didn't even know this was in there and thought sombody else just wrote it in a headline. Also, if the truth is that no bounty or program even ever existed, why does he suggest that there could be more than one page? (Obviously meaning that there could be a different perspective between them) It either exists or it doesn't. There is no gray. And there shouldn't be more than one page. So saying you have to "stay on the same page" would be completely irrational. Unless of course there is more than one page. Which clearly means that a bounty and program had to have existed for there to be 2 different perspectives or more than one page. |

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
The "declaration" wouldn't even need to be created if Hargrove wasn't trying to pass the blame for some wrong-doing onto someone else. There's simply NO rational reason to write this thing if there isn't really something that was covered up.
If he really believes he did nothing wrong, then the declaration didn't need to be made. He didn't need to throw anyone under the bus if there really was no bounty program. Use honest real logic here. If the bounty program didn't exist, this declaration is 1000% pure futility. A waste of time and effort. Nobody does that. Nobody is going to expose themself to all this for nothing. |

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
Oh, I'd also like to point out that Chris Carter, today on ESPN, fully admitted that pay for injury bounty programs existed and he participated and even started and paid players to hurt other players. He wouldn't mention any other players that he knows participated (except for Bill Romanowski) in pay for injury bounties, but he said there were a ton.
He said it was rampant in his day and he is absolutely positive it was just as rampant up until the recent crackdown. So this pretty much shoots down Guido's contention that pay for injury bounties simply don't exist and that he doesn't at all believe any player anywhere would ever pay for someone else to be injured. |

RE: Saints Bounty Thread
There is truth, lies and obfuscations involved in this issue and the Saints are on board with anything other than the truth.
I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

It will be easy for Guido to switch to the "everyone does it and the commish is only picking on the Saints" bandwagon. As for me, I have no respect for Chris Carter as a commentator or reporter and I certainly don't believe anything he says without independent corroboration. An obvious follow up which no one has asked him yet to my knowledge is what bounty payouts, if any, he actually made. |
