Because if I had a multi-million dollar organization, bet your ass I would have. Anyone who rolls half a mil out and lets a competitive advantage as strong as a 2nd round pick go without knowing whether it was warranted is an idiot, point blank. It isn't a matter of "keep taking it." It's a matter of stroking a check for 500 large and then, after-the-fact, going "oh, gosh, we really DIDN'T do anything wrong?" Nobody does that. Nobody.

You've got that right. All they have to do is wait for the NFLPA and Vilma's legal team to do the dirty work and then they can, and will, pounce. You are absolutely right. Don't forget that Benson met privately with Goodell in New York last month and I would expect a threat was included in that meeting along the lines of show me something solid or your ass is grass.
