I know. You have no interest in the truth as long as it helps the Saints. I can't say I blame you. I am sure people back on my Saints board would feel the same way if y'all were being screwed over. You see, no matter how you feel about Saints fans, they are no different from y'all. There are good one and bad ones.

"We need to decide how many times we can bull rush and and we can f------ put Vernon Davis' ankles over the pile."

"He becomes human when we f------ take out that outside ACL."

So I suppose you'll tell us now that the "pile" comments mean Gore, as the head of the team, should be touched lightly to somehow steal his magic mojo through voodoo touch techniques, and "ankles over the pile" meant to be sure to tackle Davis in a way that would make him land on top (cushioning his fall with their own bodies... how kind!), and that taking out the ACL meant on a date, in that they would invite the ACL out to lunch, and humanize it so it would not want to beat them anymore?

You make excuses for everything, and not only can't see the forest for the trees, but cant see the beach for the sand.

He obviously meant hit Gore and continue to hit Gore throughout the game. I you actually think that is not the goal of every defense then you are incredibly naive. Your job is to inflict pain. To make that other player want to quit. It is not to intentionally try to injure a player. But, it is your job to HURT that other player. Anybody that has played the game at any level knows that. You may get squeamish over that, but that is status quo. It is and has always been part of the game and is far removed from bounties.

The Davis statement was in the same vein. I am not sure about the meaning of the Crabtree reference, but I seriously doubt it meant go tear up his knee because if it did they had ample opportunity and never did. Don't forget that the Saints had ZERO penalties called on them that game. They played about as clean a game as you could play.

But, the players said they never took what Gregg Williams said literally. On the other hand, you are taking it literally. And even if taken literally it doesn't not confirm bounties.

Then Gregg Williams is a shitty coach. Why on earth would any coach waste time during halftime by saying things his team shouldn't take literally? There is precious little time during halftime to make changes to the game plan, but Old Gregg wanted to blow a bunch of smoke up everyone's asses? Nice try.

Oh, and for those of you that believe the league is incapable of telling a lie:

Referees union claims league is spreading 'misinformation'

(AP) -- The NFL referees union says the league is "engaged in a misinformation campaign" following unsuccessful negotiations earlier in the weekend.

The two sides failed to reach an agreement Saturday when they met for the third day in a row, and the league said it's proceeding with replacement officials.

The NFL locked out the referees in early June, and hired replacements, whose work in exhibition games has been heavily criticized.

On Sunday, it sent teams a memo saying it upped its offer to the union and thought it was close to a deal, but the union says "there was no agreement ... to do anything other than to meet on Saturday. Any claim that numbers were agreed to before Saturday is absolutely false."

The NFL's memo says it offered more money in order to reach a deal before the regular season started, and thought the union was planning to reach one on Saturday.

In a memo obtained by The Associated Press, the NFL said that on Saturday "the officials immediately did an about-face and made clear that they had no intention of settling within the agreed-upon parameters."

The union says that "after locking out the NFL Officials on June 3 and refusing to negotiate with the NFLRA, the NFL is now engaged in a misinformation campaign."

The statement goes on to say "there was no agreement on Thursday or Friday to do anything other than to meet on Saturday. Any claim that any numbers were agreed to before Saturday is absolutely false."

The NFL has seen and heard the problems the replacements have had this summer, something that tests the integrity of the sport. The speed of the game and the amount of time starters are on the field increase exponentially for real games, making the replacements' task more challenging.

In 2001, the NFL used replacements for the first week of the regular season before a contract was finalized.

That speech was not made at halftime. It was his normal evening before over the top rant that players said he goes through the night before every game to get the defense pumped up for the next day. I would have assumed you would have been aware of that well known fact.

No, I am sure the halftime talks dealt with making adjustments leaving the metaphorical hyperbole to less important occasions.

Nice try.

Edit: Oh, and you won't get an arguement from any Saints fan. Gregg Williams WAS a shitty coach.

Just both sides trying to look better than the other. They learned it by watching political wars.

Ironically, no one over here is saying that.

You, on the other hand, have absolutely taken everything anyone affiliated with the Saints says at face value.

Unless that affiliate happens to say something you don't like, in which case he's a felon, or a disgruntled ex-employee, or whatever.

I am only taking what I have heard said under oath or by way of an affidavit. As I said, seven Saints players and coaches who have been with the Saints the entire time of the alleged bounties have testified in District Court that no bounties existed and Vilma never offered anything for injuring Favre nor anyone else. Both Vitt and Drew Brees have submitted affidavits denying any existence of or knowledge of any bounty program.

On the other hand, the NFL has presented no witness testimony or affidavit supporting their claims that a bounty system existed.

As a lawyer you must know that that weighs very heavily in the Saints favor. The supposed ledger that is a key part of the leagues "evidence" was nothing more than a typewritten transcript of what the players and the media were told existed. Why not show the actual document? Perhaps taken in snippets it told the story they wanted heard, while as a whole may have been suspect ... as in forged by someone with an axe to grind?

I didn't start reading this thread just for the last 4 pages. I'm not going to go through 108 pages of thread to find every instance of you taking a Saints player, coach or administrator's word over everyone else's, because everyone else here has read the thread too, and they know that the above is 100%, grade A, Mark 1 Mod 0 horse squeeze.
