Another reason Goodell is reluctant to turn over all info is that he is protecting the Saints players who gave testimony against Vilma and the others and were given immunity.

There's no way Brees is on super-secret double probation like in Animal House. The media would find out, and the NFLPA would never stand for it.

Apparently they're offering him 5 years between 19.2-20 million a year now.

he's a complete idiot if he doesn't take that. maybe in his mind, sitting out this season could be in the best interest of his health. i mean think about it really, being the saints qb after all the bounty stuff is going to put a bigger target on his back (and knees and shoulders, etc) than winning the superbowl. maybe he realizes this and will just let chase take the hits, while he tries to let the resentment die out and sneak off to play somewhere else next year

Goodell has already stated that there were only three witnesses that gave testimony, Gregg Williams, Joe Vitt and one other person. It has since come to light that Mike Cerullo was that other person and the one that came up with the supposed ledger that has since been questioned for it's accuracy and authenticity. Cerullo also recanted on what he claimed this past April about Vilma and Vitt has denied that he ever verified that a bounty system was in place. After Vitt's denial Goodell said he still has two credible witnesses, if you can call Cerullo credible and Williams has been ordered to keep his mouth shut.

Goodell is reluctant to turn over anything else because he has nothing else. Still, to date, there has been ZERO evidence presented that proves a bounty program was in place.

It is rather interesting how the coaches suspended haven't said a word. Also, those players complaining haven't brought any proof against the ruling.

The coaches were placed under a gag order by Goodell. Remember, they have to be reinstated. And how do you prove you didn't do something when no real proof has been shown that you did? That's why they are trying to get it to court so they can discredit the secret "evidence" against them.

Benson has seen no more than anyone else. Benson has already said he wasn't aware of any bounty system. That is why he hired the investigative firm of the ex-director of the FBI to do their own investigation.

There have been players on both sides of the fence. So while there are some that are on the Saints side, there are also some that see this for what it is.

There will be some that target them. Everything isn't absolute. There are many players in the NFL and they all don't think the same way. Also I can bet that some of those players are on the Saints side purely for their dislike of Goodell in general. You can prolly ask James Harrison and he is on the Saints side but he prolly hasn't been keeping up with the news.

Another thing...this Gregg Williams has been ordered to not talk is PURE SPECULATION and assumptions based on the bias of the Saints fans and other people who somide with the Saints. Let's stick to facts.

Nope. Just sitting it out. There is no reason for a deal to be made until the last moment. If you haven't noticed, coming into last week the Saints had not signed any of their draft picks, as well. In the past few days they have signed all but one.

I'm not worried at all and there isn't much else to do or say until the suits hit the court and/or the suspensions are placed on hold.

Several Saints players and more than one media type have heard from the coaches themselves, directly or through third parties, that they were directed to keep their mouths shut. Both Payton and Williams have a stipulation in their suspensions that require reinstatement. Goodell is clearly holding that over their heads.
