Not according to several players, including Matt Bowen and Roddy White. It is naive to think that rewarding a hit hard enough to knock a player out of a game wouldn't be included. Nothing says that intentionally hunting for injuries is the purpose. A good clean hit that knocks a player silly is far from hunting.

But, the fact is, that the whole pay for performance route is against the rules and that is what the Saints are in trouble for. Most other teams will catch the shit, too, as this thing expands.

No excuses are needed. The Saints players were breaking the rules and got caught. That is not lightened by the fact that it does happen across the entire league. They were stupid for keeping records of it all. Players on teams across the league have spent the last two days shredding all of their evidence if they knew what was best for them.

What about the money Ornstein or whatever his name is that put $10,000x2 in the pot and sent Payton emails about it?

I guess you missed my post where it is said they aren't in as much trouble for the bounty program as they are for directly lying about it the bigs of the NFL. They are in deep crap!

If it is ture people outside the SO are involed with this it makes a much larger problem than just players adding money to the pot.

I think Ornstein and Payton are good buddies from what Payton said in his book.
