RE: Saints Bounty System
This is impressive stuff. We now have something to follow this offseason
![]() I'm wondering if suspensions, firings, cap hits, or draft picks are to be taken away. This goes against EVERYTHING the NFL has been pushing towards, a safer game.

RE: Saints Bounty System
So if this actually does get serious, what can the NFL do about it? Sure there will be fines, but in a billion dollar business, fuck a fine. It's not like the NCAA where a team can be put on probation. Could the NFL seek resignations for implied parties? Do they dare take the Lombardi away?

RE: Saints Bounty System
If they are truly serious about player safety and want to make a statement, lifetime ban, but they don't have the cajones to actually do it.

RE: Saints Bounty System
Article's about this investigation have already started hitting every major sports websites. I have read one response calling for Payton to be fired, Greg Williams to be banned, and major penalties levied on the players involved.
I guess this is the point where we all learn if Goodell is really full of shit or not. He has been proclaiming that player health and safety were his biggest concerns. If that is the case, then this is absolutely one of the worst crimes a team and coaching staff can commit. If he really believes it, then Williams should be banned for multiple seasons, and Payton, since it was determined by the investigation that he was fully aware of this, should be fired, and banned for at least one. Of course, would that really bother Payton? "Hey, I'm rich, I get a year vacation and then after that, some struggling team is going to pay me MEGABUCKS to be their new head coach". I believe that what will most likely occur is that Goodell will once again prove to be a douche and fine some folks, give a few games suspension to a few others, and that'll be about it. He doesn't truly care about the players safety. He cares about the bottom line. That being said, it could be very interesting if we see the Players Association get involved. If it also comes out that any of the players with a bounty placed on them were seriously injured, we could also see criminal charges begin to be filed against players and coaches alike. |

The entertainment value of his posts are derived purely from his terminal homerism. Can't wait to hear how he spins this one. |
